  1. Good point. I think bottom composition makes a big difference in presentation choice even within a given region.
  2. I guess the previous owner was a belt and suspenders kinda guy.
  3. I love these jig heads.
  4. I caught one tiny little bass yesterday. I'll take what I can get right now.
  5. Lately if I could only bring one, it'd be my ML spinning setup with a wacky rig. That's been the most consistent bite for me for some time.
  6. Those little gulp minnows are the jam.
  7. Field trip? Field trip!
  8. Caught this little guy on a chartreuse gulp minnow while the woman and the dog were walking around the park.
  9. That's pretty much exactly what they are. The guy from the Online Outdoorsman YouTube channel makes them, and he does a whole bunch of multispecies and ultralight fishing, so I'm guessing the hook size is on account of that. I bet he'd do bulk packs if you shot him an email or message, though.
  10. Check out Mule Jigs.
  11. If it makes you feel any better, we can continue the baseball analogy. Cobb's lifetime, league-leading batting average was only .366. Nobody's perfect. lol
  12. That's heartbreaking. Also I have to keep doing a double take at your profile because one of Knoxville's old neighborhoods is called Happy Holler.
  13. It was hard to get ahold of them but once I did they were all over it. Super pleased with the process and communication once we finally got started – not to mention the free upgrade. I didn't get anything but the rods, and I'm fine with that. They were probably out of them, too. Apparently their warehouse is just about sitting empty because of supply problems. Roger's a mess. I need to look into finding him a 12 step program or something for his crippling cheez-it addiction. Still, he's a good boy. I'm rooting for him to finally catch a squirrel.
  14. Yeah. Between shipping problems from source companies and the massive uptick in demand because everybody has time to fish now, this is a logistics nightmare.
  15. Care package from Lew's came in yesterday. I warrantied a TP1 Black and one of their little panfish rods. It took forever to get in touch with them on account of COVID, and their warehouse was pretty much bare even so. That said, once we got the conversation started, they were incredibly good. Didn't have direct replacements in stock for either, so I got a comparable Mr Trout model for the little rod, and a free upgrade to a Custom for my TP1. I gotta say I like the g-clutch handle.
  16. It seems like they want one or the other for me. Last time we were out I whacked 'em on long, lazy hops. Especially using a tiny craw.
  17. Just upload the file to a site like this. There are tons of options out there. If you use Chrome or Firefox, there are extensions for that (and just about everything else).
  18. It's funny how color changes one's confidence in a given lure. Academy's house brand used to put out their traps in a color called green terror, and last year I tore them up on that color. They've apparently discontinued that color, and I'm out of them. Now I barely throw those H2O lipless baits anymore because it's like my heart's not in it or something.
  19. I've caught on both this year, but it really seems like they're only interested in one or the other at a time. If I get bit on shad, I'm more than likely not getting bit on a bluegill pattern.
  20. First week on the new job, and I'm already dipping out midday to chase green fish. lol I had a hunch around lunchtime and it just wouldn't leave me alone, so I went to one of the spots here @Jermination and @TnRiver46, probably some other locals will know it from the background. They were going HAM on shad. Kinda bittersweet day. Caught this little chonker, missed on a few wacky rig fish, and broke a rod tip (that I'd already fixed once, so I felt like I was playing with house money every time I used it anyway). I love fall fishing.
  21. Maybe a texas-rigged fluke or a white truck worm?
  22. Ropebass are the worst. Especially when they get ahold of a treble hook.
  23. Corollary to this, I guess: I am far more successful with (for example) wacky rigs when I use a weighted hook. A 16th ounce to give it a little more juice on the fall has got me bit like 3:1 over weightless lately.
