  1. I do alot of dropshot in summer in socal.... my main lake is heavy pressure and 25ft visibility.. its been hot so I have been finding schools on ledges about 35ft deep right before it drops to 60 ft plus... i use 1/0 owner circle hooks for nose hooked roboworm and 2/0 ewg for Texas rigged with 1/8 - 1/4 cylinder wieght
  2. They are not sponsor but make money when people use there tackleware house and Amazon links from YouTube. Also im sure they get some of commission off the lures they designed
  3. Out here on the west coast fishing yellowtail in the rocks still using 7ft 6inch plus rods is way easier then old 5ft rods... all the new big ocean rods actually give you leverage over the fish cause the way they are designed.. its all about where the rod bends and loads up... also sometimes you are fishing tuna by islands loaded with great whites so your trying to boat a 100lb plus fish in 5 to 10 mins
  4. I pre cool the cooler then I use ice and the cooler shock icepacks... the ice packs stay cold for 4 days when I go to the desert in 80 plus weather
  5. I run bearing buddy hubs so just a grease zerk for me
  6. I an still working cause I am considered essential... my wife and son are home.. all lakes are closed so just work, organize tackle, work on boat, day drink... at night since wife don't have to work after kid goes to bed we watch a movie
  7. I caught some strippers on Salas 7x surface irons at havasu.... I brought a bunch out to fine tune the action one trip and we came across a school of foamers.... 45 minstrel of straight fun. https://www.turners.com/salas/salas-7x-lite-jig-9701
  8. As of yesterday all lakes in San diego county are closed... they are all ran by city and closed them... closest place for me to put my boat in freshwater is 4hours away on the Colorado river.. looks like it maybe time to hit the bay for some bass fishing
  9. A friend of mines dad still runs a jack pole boat out of san diego
  10. No 3d printing but been draining a bait in cad and will cut it at work on a mill or cnc router
  11. I fish on a bass tracker 16ft alum boat... since I don't have spot lock yet I tend to fish cover pretty quick esp if there is any wind... once I find them I will even drop my anchor to really work a area or just make a few passes through the area
  12. I have driving both at speeds over 70... on a the river with really shallow water... the only time I prefered a foot throttle was in my old jet boat... I had a hand throttle in a 18ft picklefork with a 200 merc on it...
  13. I fish pretty much straight 20lb power pro braid on everything except frog/heavy cover is 50lb
  14. I prefer hand throttle... especially in rough seas
  15. This exact reason california implemented all boat opererators must take a uscg approved class and carry a boater safety card.. as of January 1st it will be all people 35 and under... few more years then it will be everyone
  16. smell of manure spread all over fields smells like money... my uncle had a feed lot cleaning buisness and also sells parts/complet spreaders
  17. I tow my 16ft tracker with my 95 jeep grand cherokee v8 awd.. also have 2002 f150 and a 2002 ford excursion 4wd with a 7.3l diesel
  18. OK so I have a 16ft aluminum bass tracker. I currently have no fish finder at all on the boat. I have got the OK from the wife to get me some boat toys for Christmas, I have a budget of 2000. I am going to get a mk terrova with spot lock, built in transducer. So with 600 dollars I need a fishfinder. I am having a hard time cause I want something at consul but on the bow would get used more for fishing.. just looking for ideas. Was thinking of getting a 7 inch on bow and then just a little 4 in kayak style at consule... or get just one and make a swivel mount system so I can turn it and see from the bow. Also will the trolling motor TD work with garmin units?
  19. I started using braid in west coast big fish fishing. when i recently started fresh water fishing again i spooled up 6 rods with floro and mono then month later the line is all coils and just a hassle to deal with... so now all my stuff is full of braid and i fish straight 30lb or 50lb braid on all my baitcasters. hardly ever use a leader unless its drop shot spinning rig. If i feel i need to try a leader it takes me all of 20 secs to tie braid to leader... only time i have done it is if i am noticing abrasion marks from the quaga mussels
  20. costa win gets you in the flw cup which is flw versions of classic... i would prob do the costas cause i live in socal and they have a whole series with in 12 hr drive of home/work
  21. I have been using bomber sunglasses lately... polarized, they float, and Osha approved polycarbonate lens.. also under 50 dollars
  22. Sounds like it is a problem with the lake officials and there rules... not the dfg.. All you can do is go to the lake governing body and plead your case/get clarification on what there rules mean
  23. I have been advised by a gun lawyer and 5 close family Leo's that the one thing you don't wanna do in California is wound a intruder... you are gonna get more problems especially civil court if you don't kill the person then if you do kill
  24. I have a Springfield xd for home defense... shooting handloads 180 he hollow points at 1300 fps... sitting next to the pistol is my streamlight led flashlight that will blind anyone especially in a dark room... that is if you get past the 125lb rotty
  25. Put feelers out on some of the forum boards... might even be able to sell the upper alone...
