What size seems to be the norm if you don’t run bait more than a tick past eye of hook? Medium?

It was quiet at that time of day.. it gets real busy. N Weekdays r my preference there but the weather was to nice to not go.

What r you fishing from?? The bank, a boat . a kayak and what technique? It’s a open end question.

Gorgeous day.. finally didn’t fight any wind.. no PB but was nice relaxing day which I’ve needed . Was on the water at 6:30 and off by 12:30.. all day would have been great but was riding on zero sleep.

I use a piece of Electrical tape to cover my knot. Just as many straight line guys out there as there is main line to backing guys.. again I reverse my line when I want.. that’s my saving money In the long run. Some guys want the backing to save money. That’s cool. Leaders zero issues. Again no right no wrong. I have straight flouro on 1 reel. I like braid on the others and braid to flouro leader on a couple.That’s me. Do I experiment? Yep. Will I have more Flouro on reels.. I’m sure. All comes down to opinion.. even the pros all have different opinions on this.. what works for them is different and or prefer is different from the next guy.

Ahh that explains a lot. And I’ll leave it at that cause the other half knows the combo to the safe?

But they look longer than 4’. Out on lake other week.. bladder was ready to blow so paddled over to embankment … than paddled away lol. Got up to embankment saw the biggin lookin at me .. Nope Rope. If they didn’t look satan staring into your soul it would be so bad

To each is own is all, one guy isn’t going to change my mind.. if you think braid is horrible that’s your thing. Most of my reels are straight braid , some with flouro leader and a couple straight flouro .People swearing you need a mono backing for braid that’s there thing. For me braid lasts long time and u can reverse it to get to that unfaded line if u want.

Yup gone down to 15lb with no issues on a baitcaster braid . Zero issues.

No clue what some of u r talking about. This is all opinion. Backing is not a must at all unless u want to save money. Poor knot quality with braid? Learn how to tie correctly. That’s my opinion. I have zero issues with straight braid or tying leaders to braid. If you r getting slippage or a lot of breakage with your leaders you are doing it all wrong.

My local crap lake that is basically pond size but listed as a lake … when it’s covered in Thick algae.. a frog has done me most justice. Every area is different . Casting into the pockets or walking the edges of it has been my Luck. Honestly I steer clear of the place anymore but when I go there and those r the conditions.

I have the Same unit minus sidescan. First season with one. Still learning it and have watched a zillion YouTube videos. Still learning what I’m looking at .. junk in water , fish, bottom structure . Gets frustrating as want to understand it more . More time and maybe find a video that really helps .. so many just blow thru what they r talking about. Can’t wait to upgrade to a 7 or 9 inch as well . So everything is bigger and just as confusing ?

Just had to replace my tractor because of mice this week.. now have a brand new zero turn in the shed and freaking out. Put a bait block outside the shed and gonna add another.. put a bunch of traps In shed as well..

Yup not hard.. I changed my eating habits as well. I drank way to much red bull too.

Bacardi or Captain and Coke Zero is my go too.. stopped drinking beer like 6 months ago and cut my sugars .. lost 25lb.’s

7 hours other day and I was toast at days end. Different ramp so learning structure and just enjoying the day trying to land some fish. I went to thru a ton of plastics . Ton of shorts strikes and or not swinging for the moon quick enough. Both my son and I. I feel terrible for my youngest. He landed a tank and I told him to net it and he listened. I didn’t realize his net was still collapsed so he struggled and it threw the hook. I haven’t upgraded his net. Not completely my fault as he should have had his net ready and not collapsed. Disappointed in our day? No. Learned a lot about the area. One thing is now that I have upgraded my yak I can not fathom sitting.. If I’m not standing to sight I am not happy. I worked a ton on my skipping with a roll cast and was very happy by end of day. God I love the Sv’s.. great learning tool.

7 hours on water today no issues so hopefully that did the trick .. time will tell. Thanks bud !!

Glad your ok. I have a Whistle attached to my PFD and slid into one of the pockets. Safety safety safety… I don’t have the most comfortable Pfd but if you where it all the time u forget it’s on.. that’s me anyways. Again glad your ok.
