  1. As mentioned in reply in another thread I only run flouro on a couple rods and it’s a pain sometimes… had InvizX on them except one that has YoZuri Hybrid leader tied on. So I decided to order 2 spools of Yozuri Hybrid in 12 and 15lb . World of difference manageability wise for me.. and yes I have always treated flouro while spooling and maintained them with conditioner. Understanding this is a Hybrid line but still didn’t think it would work out so well for me. Zero issues and no line fluffing at all. I really like this stuff and the price…., Still want to try Sniper and Tatsu. The line diameter is a bit excessive compared to others but again like it so far.
  2. Kaden 745 as well. Love mine. I also prefer full grips
  3. I think that’s what I get when I talk back to the wife?
  4. I steer clear of that place. Drunks with boats and jet ski’s don’t fair well with me and enough ignorance to make we want to go postal.
  5. Well that stinks for sure ,, when was the last time you changed your bearings?
  6. I’ve gradually sold off and gone all Dobyns.. 2 left to sell baitcaster wise .. and I’ll be all Dobyns. Does it matter… nope …but I’ve grown to understand their line for the most part and I like them. Gary is a awesome guy and will listen and be honest about your needs.. not sell you the most expensive rod. But everyone is different. Snag what you like.
  7. The agony … beautiful day today except for watching that $20 lure launch to outer space. Line didn’t break , landed a nice one and didn’t check line.. lure slipped off mustard clip. Love my yak but am getting a troller for it.. point to point I like to go to it will give me a lot more casting time
  8. Or Dobyns Champ Xp 734c .. that’s what I run with … chatterbait always tied on.
  9. Ditto .. love my 713 Kaden.. but wouldn’t think of using it for frogging in the salad I fish .. 735 great frog rod.. although I use a 736 , 745 and 705
  10. Yup… It will bring more cause I just drank all the beer I had trying to get unsnagged.?
  11. Texas Rig my # 1( has always been my confidence bait) Wacky or Shaky head Jig Top water+ frog rod Cb rod
  12. My father as we had 2 large ponds on the property at my childhood home. But I would not say he was the influence on my fishing today .. have to hand that to my youngest son getting me back into fishing .
  13. Break out the wench cause my palomar knots don’t break?
  14. All braid but 4 rods .. my CB rod is straight Flouro , another baitcaster braid to flouro leader and 2 spinning are 15lb braid to Flouro leader.
  15. I’m contemplating the 766.. heck its a Champ Dc with whatever spin on it to put Fred’s name on it... I just like full cork. Fred’s line is being discontinued.. so if u don’t mind the color snag one for the price ..
  16. The addiction is real. Love my Yak and am always tinkering with things on it or things to get for it.
  17. I seal the cork on all my rods. Doesn’t hurt .
  18. Also my only concern about some of these auto deploy is how they look upon deploying it looks near impossible to be able to flip and re enter kayak. I understand they r there to save your butt , but the one I wear while killing my back I can re enter my kayak. Any one try re entry with these auto deploy pfd’s?
  19. Lol.. so have the onyx inflatable?
  20. Received my small and medium packs. These r awesome.. especially with me still getting the occasional slap on the water working on my skipping
  21. I currently have a onyx pfd . While I like it a lot with the pockets .. it’s destroying my back. It rides up in the back and where it always stays it’s digging into my back all day on my Ss127. Padding or not the bottom edges wedges into my back leaning against the seat. Anyone using something that has no back padding to recommend, I am looking at there auto/manual version anyone have it? This is what I’m wearing and what I’m looking at.
  22. I believe that is the diameter of what I pictured. I prefer them longer as being able to cut if you want or you can ride them off the bottom higher especially on silty bottoms
  23. Just cut to length you want
  24. No problem with Palomar/braid here either . I’ve pulled rather large tree branches thru the water I’ve had snags on.. and many other snags have had to pull with all I’ve had to break the line and have had times I could not break the line .. that’s a pretty stout knot I’d say. I’m sure many have had the same experience.
  25. Been making my own for a few years but just don’t fish them much anymore.
