I'd say it's overpopulated.
We have a lake that is immediate release on LMB and has been that way for years.
We catch nothing but 12" - 15" bass in abundance.
Many years ago they stocked this lake with Musky...... hasn't helped yet
With casting gear I use a leader for all baits with treble hooks to mitigate line wrap...... Devil's Horse being worse case scenario on front prop.
Use nothing but Alberto with no issues at all.
20# braid to 12# flouro.
5500 RPMs under load is fine but I personally wouldn't advise floating an engine to that, not for long anyway.
Yes I'd be upset, seems crazy that the shop evaluates an engine this way.
@TnRiver46
Ha Ha, no never had trouble with any of my Stihl's.
I said you can't go wrong with Stihl but for the money it's hard to beat Echo.
My brother has a sawmill and uses nothing but Stihl pro saws.
Started out with Stren, used that for years then Berkeley Vanish. 😳
Had no idea how line deprived I was until advancements in line technology....... braids and fluorocarbon were game changers.
It's that time of year.
I really enjoy cutting firewood and messing with chainsaws.
Dropped a large Oak last week that was full of those huge Asian hornets. 😳
Think I'll wait till it gets cold before blocking it up. 😅
Yes the flick shake 4.8 is mainly what I throw GPC.
VMC crossover rings in .003 will allow a single worm to last hours, not kidding.
Oh, the reason I prefer the 1/16 head is once the Senkos and Zman Zinkerz lose all their salt, they float on the surface.
I throw the wacky rig more than any other technique here in clear water.
1/16 VMC head with single wire guard, skipped under docks, steep banks, grass edges and around cover.
I do throw Ned and drop-shot also but much prefer wacky.
Got out this morning at daylight while still dealing with the remnants of the latest storm.
Light drizzle, extremely foggy so boat never saw plane all day.
We caught smallmouth, largemouth and a Walleye.......deep clear lake in WV.
@12poundbass
Miami vs Tennessee wasn't dull ?.......I detect sarcasm.
Miami literally looked like a highschool team and " Snoop " Huntley couldn't put a football in a swimming pool. 👍
Yes I get asked all the time by non-fishermam if I keep all my fish.
Wife and I both love fish but I only keep a small percentage of them.
By the way,
Largemouth bass caught out of clean clear lakes are a delicacy so are spotted bass.
Several members on this site claimed September can be a very slow month.
I paid mind to it as I fished quite a bit this month.
Have yet to put more than 3 fish in the boat fishing 5-6 hrs.
Hang in there.
