  1. We were MUCH more responsible and used extra virgin olive oil to treat the roads πŸ˜‚
  2. Very similar technique, the mojo rig. I use a floating worm and 1/8 tungsten weight and mainly drag the bait.
  3. Perhaps not emulate but always open to advice and willing to learn. Example: Apon joining this site I was exclusively a power fisherman using mainly casting gear. Now I'm at least 50% spinning and 50% finesse...... it's put more fish in the boat.
  4. My experience as well. Was fishing Jennings Randolph on the WV/MD line just a few years ago, biggest hatch I've ever seen.
  5. BIA " boaters insurance agency " they only do boats.
  6. Super nice boat, congrats. The last few photos sent me on a headstand but I got them. πŸ‘
  7. My very 1st deer rifle was a bolt action " Belgium " 30 06 that I used for over 40 years...... extremely accurate.
  8. Oh wow, really hate to hear this.πŸ˜” Life can be so fragile. Prayers for friends and family πŸ™
  9. I remember a guy by the user name of Cyclops, hilarious fellow. What happened to him ?
  10. Something I don't see very often but sure it's being done by some members. Early in the morning if I'm working top water, instead of casting towards the bank, I actually position the boat just off the bank and cast parallel. This allows much more water being covered during active times before the sun rises. Of course if you have a fishing partner, they always frown upon it.
  11. We've had several snows here in NW Virginia, not crippling but enough to plow. We live 1/2 mile off a state maintained road and I keep it opened with a Suzuki king quad 700. Of course a dry snow is preferable.
  12. I'm an old timer with age but not much of a contributer 😳. I sneak in and gain knowledge and then flee. πŸ˜‚
  13. Since I've retired ," 4 years ago" and with many more hours of fishing, still haven't broken the 8lb mark on a largemouth in those years. So I'll say a couple of 6-7 lb fish will end up in the boat in 2024. BUT health and being able to be on the water trumps any expectations. Stay safe
  14. I have the laserlyte cartridge for several calibers. All of them, even the cheapest will save you a handful of shells and for the price of ammo, they virtually pay for themselves from the git go.
  15. He's the Mike Krzyzewski of college football, few will duplicate his career. Will the program suffer from this loss ? DEFINITELY
  16. I never spend close to that on spinning. Okuma Ceymar feels like I did.
  17. Georgia should have been there. Congratulations to Michigan.
  18. I bounce around all over the state of VA and WV. Really enjoye fishing new water. If I travel more than 3 hours, usually stay a couple of days or more and usually with the wife and dog. I'm certain I'll hit over 20 different lakes in 2024, Lord willing.
  19. Surprised that the 6.5 Creedmor didn't get mentioned for Whitetail, inheritanly accurate and low recoil.
  20. We've kept stats at our hunting camp for over 50 years, pictures with caliber used. 7mm-08 is responsible for more deer than any other caliber, next .308. We have a few Elk hunters, 7mm mag. Elephant? .460 weatherby mag if I ever hunted one. When I predator hunted years ago, fox, Bobcat and Coyotes, liked a .17 Hornet.
  21. Fishing is actually counter productive personally, it keeps me from regular exercise and work around the house. This time of year when I'm not fishing, stretching and exercise is daily. I'm not a good enough fisherman to keep a bent rod. πŸ˜‚
  22. Nah, this time of year I need the baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to kill the skunk smell. πŸ˜‚ Congrats πŸŽ‰
  23. If I'm trying to imitate a craw it's Jigs or Speed craw on Shakyhead. Texas rig makes me think of worms which I throw a lot. I don't think anything beats a jig prespawn, just my opinion.
  24. Wow 😳, congrats πŸ‘
  25. I know everyone is throwing them but Wacky is responsible for 80% of my fish in 2023......it catches.
