  1. Yes indeed, pay attention. The durability of Elaztech has it's downfall. As salt is released over time the bait becomes more floatatious, actually floating to the surface, weightless.
  2. Nevermind, used the search feature and found my answer.
  3. Since joining this forum and following many rod threads it's apparent we have many rod guru's...... I'm not one of them. Was fishing yesterday and snapped a just under $200 spinning rod and need to replace it. A friend of mine has a brand new 6'8 med XF Mojo Bass 3/16 - 5/8 that he's willing to sell. It's only use will be wacky flickShake/finesse worms on 1/16 head, 15# braid to 8# flouro. The $189 rod I broke šŸ˜” was a 6'8 med fast 1/8 - 3/8 that worked well. The hooks on these wacky heads are much more robust than a drop-shot hooks so wanted to stay away from a ML rod. Will this Mojo be over kill and should I actually consider a ML rod ? Thanks
  4. Whatever one is closest to purple. My favorite warm water worm is a Jackall flickShake in cola...... looks purple too me.
  5. 3/8 outcast swim jig in Orange and brown.
  6. All seats give a width, depth and height when you go to order. Just measure what you have.

    Lizards

Zoom lizard in cotton candy chartreuse is the only lizard I throw...... killer in the spring.
  8. Heck, I didn't even know it was a spotted bass. šŸ˜‚ Them things fight.
  9. Fished a deep clear lake in central VA today. Fish were on beds. Caught several and snapped a really nice rod with a lifetime warranty.
  10. Keitech easy shiner 1/16 head.
  11. English definitely has some loop-holes in it. Bass guitar šŸŽø Bass fishing šŸ
  12. This news must be fresh of the press as a Google search revealed nothing.
  13. My fishing partner lost his PB last week. The water was gin clear and as I looked over the edge of the boat with net in hand , The fish looked me in the eyes šŸ‘€ and gave it one more big dig and broke off. He was throwing a deep diving crankbait on a 6'6 med light and wants to blame me for spooking the fish. šŸ˜‚ Sorry for your loss
  14. Pulled the boat to a new lake in the metropolitans that held a lot of fish but nothing of size. Still had fun on a wacky finesse worm.
  15. I never let the connecting knot get into the spool. It limits knot contact with the guides allowing better casting. Imo More specifically, My leaders are 6 ft in length.
  16. A husky Jerkbait works year around.
  17. All I remember was it was in the late 80's on spinning tackle, 5" Culprit worm. The reel was more than likely a Shimano.
  18. I fished a lake in WV 2 years ago that was littered with cicada. It was predominantly a smallmouth lake and about all the fish I caught were with a top water bait. I remember I didn't do a steady retrieve like a buzz bait but replicated the action of the cicada........ Devil's horse, Whopper plopper and pop max. All the fish were bloated with cicada so it was definitely a banquet going on.
  19. It's a QB league for sure but college success does not equate to NFL success as we've seen so often.
  20. White / Pearl / Bone all seem to be universal.
  21. This was my observation as well. I threw Culprit for many years and slowly fell victim to trends and didn't even realize it. Going to make an effort to throw some this year.
  22. It's not necessarily the fault of the worm but rather the technique that seems to require a straight tail....... wacky, Neko, mojo, dropshot, weightless Senko. Glad to hear the curly is still kicking.
  23. Getting ready for a week long trip with the wife " and dog " to my favorite lake in VA. Was taking inventory of the large amount of tackle on the boat and NOT a single curly tail worm , no Zoom, no Culprit. Seems the trend has shifted to straight tail which I have an abundance, Senko, Zoom finesse, Jackall flickShake and others. So went to my storage locker inside the house and grabbed a few packs of Zoom curly tail " watermelon red " to take along and maybe reinvent the past when every worm I threw was a curly tail. Are they still legit ? And y'all still throwing them ?
  24. I live in a rural area so guns and hunting are a popular topic around here. Yes, carry daily and all vehicles are armed as well. Oh and AR leaning against the bedroom wall šŸ˜
  25. I've only ever tied the Alberto knot so can't speak of the others. I can tell you this, Whenever I snag and have to break off, the leader is still there.
