  1. Jerkbaits are probably my overall favorite technique and never use them like a crankbait, just don't. Winter - slow sinking - count down - slow twitch. Spring pre spawn - suspending - jerk and pause in shallower water. Summer and fall - suspending and top - aggressive jerks. I really like Jerkbaits.
  2. Casting accuracy is another. Since moving from a bass boat with the nice standing platform to a seated position in a kayak, my accuracy has suffered some......miss that stump, miss that fish.
  3. I found a way to clear out the congestion at the boat ramps under the current conditions.......250mg of Niacin. ?
  4. Like to add. My interpretation of success may be wildly different than others. I catch 1 fish in 40* water.....I'm throwing a party.
  5. Equipment, presentation, bait choice for conditions, knowledge of weather patterns, quite a list. #1 my guess would be presentation but all play a role.
  6. If your referring to the Alberto, that is opposite of the way shown to me to complete the knot. While holding the Flouro loop in left hand , braid comes up through loop, wraps the Flouro and then braid tag end goes down through Flouro loop to complete. If this is incorrect, it never fails.
  7. Yeah, not great times but best to stay positive for mom.....and yourself. Still praying for you and her.
  8. Fishing every other day. Hiking with wife. Doing laundry. Bass resource daily. Mtnbiking. Working around the house. Haven't watched TV since the Superbowl.
  9. I pray and proud of it......yes, your mom.
  10. Hah, bass inhaled it.....nice fish.
  11. The heaviest I use is 50# braid on a heavy action frog rod. Use same outfit when throwing 1oz Jigs. It does suck to hang but if it's REALLY hung , use scissors.
  12. Some great advice, so many great boats on the market now. Both fishing Yaks are Feel-free, heavy but bullet proof. Moken 10 for river float fishing , Harmony adventure paddle, onyx manual PFD. Bass 100 with motor pod for lakes, big seat but had to elevate to 10". Very stable for 35" width. I use the motorized with custom foot throttle 10 to 1 over paddle.
  13. I don't have major issues with Poison but sure do struggle mightily with Chiggers. My brother and wife can walk through the exact same area and NOTHING......I look like I've been shot with 12 gauge. Sorry for veering off a little.
  14. Absolutely beautiful fish, bet that was fun.
  15. I'm really not one to weigh or measure this time of year, want them back on their beds.......quick release. Lol Your right, this is why we do it.
  16. Wife and I listen to music every evening. Anything from Lawrence welk to Biggie small.
  17. Caught everything shallow today on this.
  18. Good day, beautiful fish.
  19. I fish 10 different electric only lakes all within an hour from house, all remain open. Fishing in the morning, mid 60s, calm, overcast.
  20. It's possible your not tying the Alberto properly. I go 7 wraps up and 7 back, cut both ends flush and never an issue. Everytime I break off it's always at the bait, not the Alberto. Watch a video to make sure your tying it properly. For reference, I use 15-20# Power Pro and 8-12# Sunline sniper Flouro for leaders.
  21. The problem around here is actually to much fishing. Every lake I go to in the middle of the week, looks like Saturday due to people working at home or not working at all. Some of these lakes are very rural lakes in WV.....boats everywhere.
  22. Entertaining read, thanks. May your luck continue.

    New PB!

    Really good fish
  24. Let's see....um. Oh, did re-tie all fishing lines last evening. Ordered a manual inflatable life vest " Onyx" which this very forum prompted me to do so. Breaking out the pressure washer later today. Put frontline on the dog. Think I drank a whole bottle of Cabernet last night while star gazing around the firepit. Had friends stop by while the wife and I were playing Uno.....she ran them off aggressively, wow. We live in a remote location 1/2 mile off state maintained road, she wants NO visitors. Lol Wife and I are doing a lot of hiking in the GWNF behind the house. She's packing sandwiches now. Loaded boat for Monday's fishing adventure, throwing Magnum flukes and 10" worms. Have a great day.
