  1. Welcome to the forum.
  2. What would Ted Nugent do ? My wallet fell out of my back pocket at an airport and as soon as I noticed it, went to lost and found. Sure enough it was turned in. So I thought maybe there is a few honest people in this world. Opened the wallet to find a little over $200 was snatched so my expectations returned back to normal.
  3. That's a tank !!! Congrats
  4. I don't keep track of how many times I fish in a year but it's as much as I want.
  5. Your wife will regret that suggestion 😂 Welcome back to the obsession.
  6. I have my staples already rigged and on top in the rod locker. If I get to a lake and find the water to be cloudy and the weather to be opposite of forecast " happens quite often " then I have to go digging. Direct answer, never fully unrigged.
  7. Fished a lake a couple of weeks ago that was full of Alabama bass, heck I didn't even know it until @TnRiver46mentioned it. They fight like mad and one of the best eating fish we've had. Congrats 👏
  8. Very true. Most of my snags require braking an 8lb leader.
  9. Hate to admit this 😁 I lost 3 good fish in a row yesterday morning on a Bass assassin and as soon as I got home, ordered another rod...... make that 16 now on the boat. Oh no, it definitely wasn't my fault.....the rods 😁. Great photo thanks for sharing.
  10. Grei video, thanks
  11. I don't pay for frog rods , it's all visual, no sensitivity involved....... ugly stick and Kastking, heavy.
  12. I simply thumb the spool , spinning or casting and pull straight to break line, no stress on reel.
  13. There was a guy on here several months ago that removed ALL the hooks from his baits and fished with them 😳....... and posted about his experience. I bend frog hooks, adjust blades on Devil's horse and trim jig skirts, that's about it.
  14. I'm just pinching the top of the ring while pushing down on hook to clear the barb. Really don't do this often though as I have a dedicated rod just for this technique. Will admit, those rings are made of some tough plastic.
  15. Yes, I've seen many videos of yotes snatching cats and even small dogs. We live in a remote mountainous area where they seem to stay far away...... but we here them.
  16. Was also thinking pier fishing meant salt water but wasn't sure. If salt water..... I'm not a resource. Lol
  17. I like VMC crossover rings so much that I buy them in bulk. You squeeze the the top and press down on hook to release them. I'm only using 1/16 heads. Why I like them so much is " if I don't snag " I can fish the same worm for hours and after many fish. .004 for finesse worms .006 for Senko
  18. If the pads have some separation and your confident with your casting abilities, a spinnerbait can be very effective. Imo Surprised the fluke wasn't more productive, love them in grass and pads.
  19. What is your preferred bait ?
  20. Is that an albino? Or the way the sun is hitting the momma ? Great photo regardless.
  21. The deer and the turkeys have learned over the years to nest and raise their young close to the house. They do this to avoid the coyotes. Imo
  22. DISLIKE: Jerkbaits only because 6 of 9 hooks are in the fish and all nine eventually get hung up in the net BUT they are very effective here. CAN'T STAND: swim baits over 3" especially equipped with an under spin. CAN'T CATCH BASS: lipless crankbait / rattle trap which also falls under the dislike and can't stand category 😁
  23. Wow looks like such a peaceful setting. Perhaps a little work to get there but once you do...... payoff time 🙂 Thanks for sharing
  24. Something else that may hinder casting distance is having your leader to long. I try to avoid letting the leader knot from entering the reel or otherwise you'll hear that ticking sound of knot making contact with the guides. I keep it simple and make my leaders the length of the rod.
  25. Swim jigs and keitech easy shiner have done well in the minimal grass lakes I fish.
