  1. Jackall flickShake specific. 1/16 VMC weedless wacky head. Jackall 4.8 green pumpkin candy for clear water, cola for everything else. Thank me later
  2. Lowe Stinger 175. The boat is relatively light being an aluminum hull and sits low to the water. The 70lb motor guide has no issues in a head wind. Bow against the wind for better control while fishing.
  3. Good question. Always keep them at max psi 65 lbs
  4. I did it today for the first time after years of owning various single axle trailers. Driver side tire is wearing on the inside and passenger side is wearing on the outside. Bearings are good and torque to spec so must be in the spindle itself. The other problem is I couldn't do this in the garage as this would change the direction of the steel belted radial. Had to remove the wheels and have the the tires put on opposite wheels to keep the direction the same. Yes, I've heard it said many times to never reverse the direction of a steel belted radial.......'ole wives tale ?
  5. That's the problem. Crappie are more vulnerable to FFS because they are a schooling fish. A buddy of mine is a diehard crappie fisherman and uses FFS and will sit on an area until they completely quit biting. The other issue is, crappie usually end up in the frying pan. I eat fish too but in moderation.
  6. UnImaginable human behavior, I can't relate.
  7. Jackall flickShake Spinnerbait Jig
  8. The lakes I fish are well populated with channel cats and they frequently hit what bass do, especially scented soft plastics. I grab the net thinking big bass but the continual digging eventually gives it away. 20# flat was a serious fight.
  9. Getting a good night's rest and allowing plenty of time in the morning has eliminated any urge for #2 on the water, have never had an emergency thankfully. Never thought twice about peeing off the bow.
  10. Nothing like a beautiful sunset after a thrilling day of fishing....... great post.
  11. Good news, Thanks for excepting the position.
  12. Only have two. 1. PFD must be worn when the big motor is running. 2. No alcohol
  13. Most are recessed today and aids in comfort and control.
  14. Sam, Praying that you'll have a successful recovery and start slaying the bass like never before.
  15. Was fishing a remote lake in WV several weeks ago, extremely clear water. The day was relatively slow for fishing, bluebird skies. As I was working my way back to the ramp, monstrous boulders suddenly appeared in 10-15 feet of water. Threw a wacky rig on a 1/16 head and landed 3 bass in a matter of minutes. Boulders are something bass can cling to.
  16. I fished a private lake some years back where the owner required barbless hooks. I made pretty quick work using a vice and flat file.
  17. Tennessee got homer happy. Congrats 👏
  18. Nose hooked increases hookup ratio but I like throwing flukes in grass so it's not an option there. I like a heavy wire Gamakatsu screw lock 4.0 on a MH, the heavy wire hook eliminates the necessity for added weight. Yes, the fluke is going to miss fish, always has for me " other than nose hooked " but it's effective. Try treating it like a frog and let the fish have it.
  19. Someone on this forum said this and it makes sense and also made me laugh. " Color doesn't matter until it does " 😂 I can tell you without doubt that color matters in the gin clear lakes I fish...... green pumpkin candy. Stained water ? Grape, plum apple and ........ " June bug " .
  20. Most of our lakes are heavily populated with bluegill but bass will always eat a worm. BUT the biggest bass I've ever hooked was while fighting a bluegill on ultralight.
  21. I feel for ya' I hate days where my expectations are so high and I only catch 19...... excruciating 😁 Congrats
  22. Wife and I left this past Wednesday for Ocean City MD thinking we were going to scorch. It was the exact opposite. The wife wore a sweater on the beach, probably upper 60's to low 70's. It was due to the cool breeze off the Atlantic Ocean. We rode inland less than a mile and it was HOT 🔥
  23. Summer fishing can be good as long as you get on the water early. Dog days - water temps in the mid 80's the fishing slows down. That's when I like throw 10"+ worms.
  24. 2004 Boston Red Soxs is all I can remember coming back 3 - 0 in professional sports.
  25. I definitely fall into a rut of throwing a bait over and over because it produced on a recent trip. I can also say with confidence that I could fish for the next 10 years without purchasing any tackle, maybe longer. Wacky rig, fluke, Shakyhead and spinnerbait is responsible for 98.3 % of the fish I've caught this year.
