Hello all, Any of you ever use the Strike King Punch Bug? I'm thinking about trying this in our local river and was wondering if it works for anyone in the southern region. I know it's for areas with a lot of vegetation/cover but I was also wondering if the texas rig is the best setup or has anyone ever used a jighead to get this lure through the cover. Thanks,

Hello all, Can anyone tell me how to figure out water clarity while bank fishing? I see a lot of topics on how to test it from a boat but since I don't have a boat, I'm searching for a different kind of answer. There is a lot of talk about how clarity determines the color of the lure and I guess that's what I'm trying to figure out. I'm looking for information on ponds and lakes around the Austin, Tx area. Any information would be great! Thanks!

Hey Everyone, My name is Jason and I'm in Austin, Tx. I grew up bass fishing but left it alone for a long while. I've been trying to get back into it for the past couple of years and I'm really enjoying it all over again. I have two kids now and you can bet that I'm bringing them along and trying to show them what my dad showed me all those years. Another good thing is, fishing is allowing me to spend even more time with my dad (we already spend time together watching football and bbq'n!) I've been to the site before looking for answers but I thought it would be best to just join the community and be a part of something that we all have in common! Hello all, I have a question (probably a dumb one) but why does my spinning reel make a buzzing noise when I'm trying to reel in a fish or anything else that's "heavy"? With a normal cast there is no noise when reeling back in but the minute I hook something the buzzing noise starts and it seems like the line is easier for the fish to take and it takes me longer to get the fish in. What could be the problem? Thank you to all that respond!
