  1. I've been doing really well at spruce run reservoir and merril creek, if you're in the ringwood/west milford area there's monksville reservoir, green turtle pond and the southern end of Greenwood lake you can fish. I recently took my boat out to the new Jersey side 3 weeks ago and had a blast. But I made sure I got off the water before the boat traffic increased.
  2. The new missile baits/roboworm crossover worm I really like, strike king rage worm is also pretty interesting. The one lineup I'm really intrigued about is the netbait "baitfuel" soft plastics they're releasing, I still can't decide if baitfuel is a gimmick or not.
  3. I fish a lot of lakes/rivers/ponds in the passiac/sussex area. Last couple boat outings I've been off the water by 9AM and if it's in the evening i'll do a 7 to 10PM outing, I try to cover up as much as possible to avoid the bugs. I already have enough mosquito bumps on my feet legs this year lol.
  4. I went to some of my ponds here in north jersey after the rain and the fishing totally sucked, it was nice to see the water raised a bit, your best bet with this heat wave is to fish during the later evening into night, I plan on doing that this weekend on my local lake.
  5. Someone has been watching Randy Blaukat... I personally think electronics in Bass Fishing is becoming a bit of a problem, not only do the tournament guys who can afford it over the others have a significant advantage. It must also hurt ones neck after awhile since they're looking down all the time. I have one 7inch GPS/finder unit on my 10ft little boat and that's it. Even if I had a traditional fiberglass fancy bass boat that some guys here probably have. I would only have a GPS unit for the console and maybe a 2d finder up front near the trolling motor.
  6. Two years in now and I'm in love with this little boat, this pic is from memorial day weekend 2022 and I've added more modifications since then including a scotty anchor and transducer mount in the front. I also added navigational lights upfront that are connected to a small lawn mower battery I have up front. I've also added a milk crate under my seat to store gear and extra tackle, if anyone is a big guy like myself the crate also helps the aluminum bars from bending down over time.
  7. Culprit 6 in grape shad. Thing catches them almost everywhere.
  8. It already has but it's started to lower down a bit here in NJ, cheapest at the moment around me is 4.45$ per gallon, just a few weeks ago the cheapest was 5.22$ and higher. Oh man I miss the fuel prices of 2019/2020. At one point my cheapest gas station I used to go to out in the woods was 1.82 per gallon. Good old days!
  9. I've never tried the one knockers but I've had luck on the Red Eye Shad Tungsten 2 tap.
  10. I have 4 senko colors. And I only use 2 of them for the most part. You guessed it, Green Pumpkin and Black n blue.
  11. There's so many factors but once you understand the basics it's easier to know why some fisheries are different than others with fish growth. I follow this guy on Instagram called aquatic_biologist and he always makes great posts about the balance of forage and other factors such as overpopulation of bass which results in stunted growth, not enough forage like bluegill and also competition with other fish species like crappie can also hurt the growth of bass.
  12. Latest escapades, beautiful creek smallmouth and some Largemouth bass from my last boat trip. Including this 3.10lb stud.
  13. Swartswood lake is an good fishery. I personally prefer other reservoirs nearby like spruce run merril creek etc. But I can't complain anytime i'm out there. During the later half of the summer I usually do well around the lilly pad fields. Senkos frogs and pegged soft plastics.
  14. X2 on the Fluke jr, match the skirt and you're good to go.
  15. It's a Confidence thing and I don't really know if it makes a big difference, I will say this though. For some reason Bass love a chewed up TRD. Few weeks ago I caught like 19 bass on the roughed up TRD in green pumpkin. Eventually it ripped and had to be discarded.
  16. A friend of mine I was recently fishing with fishes senkos/baby flukes on a weighted swimbait hook, we fished a local river for smallmouth bass this past weekend and he was slaying them on the fluke. Current wasn't fast moving though, I believe it was a 1/8oz weighted swimbait hook. Hell he outfished me I was throwing a jighead and grub.
  17. Creature baits: Berkley Pitboss, Missile Baits D Bomb, Missile Baits Baby D Bomb, Reaction Innovations Sweet Beaver, Zoom Baby Brush Hog, Strike King Rage Bug. Craws: Strike King Rage Craw, Netbait Paca Craw, Xzone Lures Muscle Back Craw Worms: Gary Yamamoto Senko, Zoom Trick Worm, Zoom Finesse Worm, Culprit Ribbontail, Roboworm Straight tail, Zman Finesse TRD, Berkley Powerworm, Zoom U tail. Soft plastic Frogs: Zoom Horny Toad.
  18. In the next coming days I plan to restock my entire Texas rig and weightless worm hook arsenal, I use mostly gamakatsu size 3/0 and 4/0 EWGs and round bends in the same size I mentioned. I know some of you guys swear by red trebel hooks for stuff like cranks jerkbaits etc, but what about worm hooks? is there a difference with using red colored ewgs etc compared to black/nickle? any of you guys use them?
  19. Tackle threads, actually better of yet the whole Fishing Tackle section. Some of the guys in there are extremely educated on lures and their knowledge has helped me improve as an angler. Second on the list is Fishing Reports. I love hearing and giving advice to people about bad days on the water, seasonal tips & seeing latest catches etc.
  20. I remember a few weeks ago I was at my lake prepping my bass raider for an outing. It was tied to my dock and I was in it prepping gear etc. All of a sudden this dude was trolling along the bank in his fancy bass tracker shouted to me "hey kid, if you wanna catch em throw this, chartreuse spinnerbait" the conditions were absolutely horrible to throw a spinnerbait and I politely said back "I've been having luck on these jigs I think i'll stick to that" and he replied back "you're missing out man!" And continued to troll down the bank. Jokes on him I then proceeded to catch a bunch of 3 and 4lbers that day on the jigs.
  21. Beast Coast Fishing lil magnum has probably become my new favorite do it all jig. They can be found here. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Beast_Coast_Tungsten_Lil_Magnum_Jig/descpage-LMJ.html
  22. Struck gold this weekend on the boat. Got 15lbs in the span of 24 hours. A 4lber three 3lbers a handful of 2s and 1s and a bonus smallmouth, the smallmouth was especially exciting only because they've just been introduced to our lake recently and there's not a whole lot of them.
  23. Is it a 35lb or 55lb motor? My prewired fuse broke when I put my 55 endura max on the front. I guess it couldn't handle the high watts, if it's a 55ph you're probably better off putting in the back of the boat.
  24. Chatterbait and a texas rigged creature/worm
