  1. I have had more luck with this trailer than any - especially at night.
  2. Caught on April 8th with a Jackhammer chatterbait. This fish is pressed up against my body trying to get it all in the picture taking it myself. Fish very rarely get this big in Pa.
  3. I have bought a lot of six gill rods lately. They are very nice for the price - they run BOGO's on their rods so you end up with 2 for about 160 dollars.
  4. YouTube comment sections are pretty toxic. I would take all comments in them with a grain of salt.
  5. True - I have not bought into any of their hype because it isn't content that ever appealed to me. I grew up watching In-fisherman, babe winkelman and some other bass fishing shows. The fact of the matter is, the kids and young adults that are fishing now are going to reflect on Googans and others that are big now with that same retrospective. I look back and remember fishing ugly sticks and zebcos. I can still go buy an ugly stick and zebco. Kids in 20 years are going to look back and remember starting with Favorite rods/reels. Maybe that company is no longer around then, so that's a whole new territory. Their influence whether anyone wants to admit it or not is cemented in the annals of fishing history.
  6. I was catching up on youtube videos the last week with the holidays and lack of fishing and noticed that most of the youtubers are jumping off the Favorite bandwagon. And whether you care about the googans or not, there is no doubt their influence in the fishing industry right now, but they have stopped using favorite for months. Reading between the lines I would guess this means there is a Googan branded rod coming out?
  7. I would stick with the same color. Then you know more or less if it's the color or depth that they are hitting.
  8. Agreed. And the price is right.
  9. That might be the zman Chatterbait Pro 2 series. Unless it's a homemade one - zman has a patent to make bladed jigs that are directly attached on the head with the ring so no one really markets those.
  10. This is the correct answer. It's not great for casting - the inertia when casting throws the worm off much of the time.
  11. I do not like this game. I caught over 800 bass in 2019. Only 6 were over 3 pounds... sigh.
  12. Just like people that live in the north, we are more acclimated to the cold and don't suffer as many consequences out in the elements. When its 30 degrees outside I wear a very light jacket and am usually toasty. Take a Floridian and they freeze their arses off at 50. Same goes for fish.
  13. This is the equivalent of the groundhog calling for 6 weeks until spring or 6 more weeks of winter.
  14. I have a 6'9" medium rod for jerkbaits as well. It works great for small walk the dog style baits, poppers, flukes and such but I usually use a 7' mh for buzzbaits. Ideal for walk the dog is whatever you prefer. 6 to 8. I prefer an 8 but that's just me.
  15. This accounts for at least 50% of my fishing. I am more the opposite - the buzzbait is way more useful and doesn't get snagged all the time. But they are so much fun! The lure I have the absolute least luck with are boot tail and paddeltail swimbaits. They are almost useless if not on a jig, spinnerbait or chatterbait. I am not giving up on them, but it's getting close.
  16. From shore? If yes, outside of squarebills, crankbaits don't work the best from shore due to their design. They work much better casting into shore out in the water. For a shallow squarebill usually cast parallel to shore and retrieve.
  17. I am going to second this. If a bait is out of your price range, buy a cheaper one and get 2. Or wait until you can buy at least 2 of said bait. Nothing is worse than being on a hot bite only to lose the lure that was working...
  18. I lost so many jerkbaits the past year. Probably 300 dollars worth...sigh
  19. I didnt see this one that my mom sent me. I have a lot of fond memories fishing with my Grandpa. Caught my first Pike, my first Muskie and my first channel cat with him. Also went on a fly in trip to Canada fishing for Walleye. We caught lakers in Lake Ontario and had some crazy Ice Fishing trips...especially those trips to Chataqua in NY.
  20. If you are deep cranking you want the reel A.J. or WRB mentioned. If you want a Daiwa you want a HD Lexa in 300 size.
  21. Looking forward to comparing this to the other Tatulas I have...
  22. My sister and I back around 1987 catching bass at my Grandpa's farm pond. I was definitely using a zebco 33 and worms I dug up from around the barn.
  23. I was told he is a Martian from outerspace.
  24. This one so much but more in regards to jerkbaits. The worst is when the stars align and it happens 3 times in a row...
