  1. For Largemouth - Lucky Craft Pointer 78 in Bluegill Flake. For smallmouth - 3 inch WW Senko in Lou's Special color
  2. This is a very hard question. But I have 2 that really stick in my mind. The first was when I was 12 years old. I wasnt a huge kid but I was pretty strong. We were fishing a large pond. I was using nightcrawlers on 10# test and hooked into a snag - I was using a zebco and a pistol grip ugly stick. This snag wouldn't budge but all of the sudden the drag started pulling and the rod, already bent from me tugging on it, completely arched. I started screaming as this fish was pulling me into the water even with the drag burning. My dad was running as fast as he could to get to me and he was yelling "trip the reel"...my mind didn't grasp that and just as my dad got to me the line made a horrific snap and the rod went limp. I would reckon it was a very large catfish but I never saw it and we never caught any catfish there in all the years of fishing. The second would be the time I was Muskie fishing and got a the largest muskie i had ever seen right next to our little row boat. I was using a large daredevil spoon and hooked something that felt pretty small. I cranked this puppy into the boat at warp speed and there was almost no resistance. Right as the fish got to the boat it surfaced and sat right next to the boat - This thing was as long as the boat. My friend and I freaked out and before we could say boo, with one head shake and a turn snapped the 30# wire leader I was using and swam off. I have never seen a fish this big in person since.
  3. Has anyone mentioned plastic straws? I heard they are systematically wiping out all the wildlife.
  4. With state regulations it gets tough. A lot of states wont allow certain species and they have to be monitored by the fish or wildlife commission. You would also need to have or have staff that are fishery science majors. There is a place by me that stocks lakes and ponds: http://bigbrownfish.com/our-story/ And you would never just use containers...fish science and maintaining aquariums is very complex. Especially if you want fish healthy enough for transport.
  5. I am counting those - a lot of the bucktails I have cost 30-35.
  6. I used to feel the same way...but fishing for musky it was a reality i couldn't avoid, paying 15 or 20 for a bait when I really didn't have much money... what it taught me is taking great care and perfecting my knot craft. I also paid more attention to my line and lost a lot less fish. I don't mind paying a little bit more for floating baits because I wont lose them! On the other hand, i own a lot of jackhammers and question why they cost 18 bucks...but they do work very well. Overall I am surprised so many haven't sprung for a few lucky Crafts or other 15 dollar baits.
  7. I have pickerel so the answer is yes. I have also caught pickerel on a stick. We just don't have many big bass in eastern pa. I wish I knew now what I didnt 20 years ago when i spent all my time fishing for Musky and Pike in western pa.
  8. I got these a month ago off Amazon and they are pretty nice.
  9. That one you want to replace. That washer is part of the drag stack. It will definitely work without replacing it, but it may not be as smooth and could theoretically stick.
  10. Which washer is it?
  11. As long as these biodegradable lures are not GMO's!
  12. Let me preface this by saying there is a very generous Bass Resource member on here - I would like to call him out but won't put him on the spot unless he says it's ok. You are amazing! Anyway, someone offered up some free lures on here to anyone that needed them and I responded that I know a kid that has started bass fishing and doesn't have a lot of money. He told me he would send these few lures. Well I got the package and he sent an unbelievable care package to someone he doesn't know that is going to be giving these lures to someone he doesn't even know exists! It's an awesome leap of faith that shows how great bass fishermen are and a testament to some really good people on this site that offer up incredible advice! I spoke to the kid the other day and told him I had something for him - while talking to him he mentioned his baitcaster had broken (black max) and he was hoping to be able to get a new one by spring. Seeing all the gear this gentleman sent I decided to throw in a combo for him to make sure he is all set for the coming season. The message the kid sent me after I left is "I’m set now man this is great I really appreciate that I wish I had something for u. I cant believe it" Following are some pictures of the kid and his goods!
  13. I usually use 8 or 10 pound mono or fluoro. The key for me in keeping the blade baits from tangling is keeping your line taut even on the fall.
  14. I have others but this is a few.
  15. Who is to say they are "knock offs"? They may be the exact same lure just being sold by another party. Seems to happen a lot with Chinese gear.
  16. For that price you can just buy a Tatula CT. Why bother going about swapping gears?
  17. I have the 7'4" crankin/bladed jig model and it's very nice for everything up to 1 oz lures
  18. Is this an ongoing thing where you need to update a lineup, etc?
  19. Made out of leather?
  20. Medium sized swimbaits mean something totally different to me and I live in the dink lands of Pa. Any 6'10"-7'6" MH rod will work for you - pick the action you like best.
  21. My son uses them for his hot wheels - I tape 4 together sometimes and make a big jump at the bottom. They make surprisingly good tracks/tunnels! I have also seen them used as rod holders on the wall.
  22. Go get yourself a variety of strike king or lucky strike crankbaits. Some squarebills, some round bills in shallow and medium diving depths. Get some white/chartreuse, bluegill and some craw patterns. 75 bucks will get you 10-15 baits and a decent start...but it can be a slippery slope getting into crankbaits.
  23. This is Strike King line - they are going to be selling it at more places than BPS.
  24. I think they launched it at icast.
