  1. I love a big 10-12" worm. Produces some really good fish.
  2. Zappu float boards.... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Zappu_Floating_Board_20pk/descpage-ZFB.html Also, lighter hooks
  3. Being in Eastern PA, I am jealous of the rest of the country that has Scheels and Academy.
  4. I have everything from <1" tubes up to 6" mondo tubes! My local tackle store has them in every size and color imaginable but I have never really tried the 6" tubes.
  5. You could add a bit of weight on the 3/8 oz to the hook side of the weight to make it 1/2 oz.
  6. What about those bass that are near or far sighted? Who is going to be a bass optometrist?
  7. I am talking about the Alphas SV. That's not $100 on Ali Express...
  8. On Amazon- depending on retrieve and gear ratio they range $158-170.
  9. I got a rod that was supposed to be a spinnerbait, bladed jig rod 2 years ago. A Tatula Elite 7'4" really moderate rod. I hate it. I have tried to like it but I like to feel what the bait is doing and that mushy feeling just doesn't work for me. So I am back to using a 7' Tatula MH Fast Action rod with braid to leader and enjoy it much more...
  10. The Zillion sits a bit higher, but not much. The Zillion is a tad lighter, but not much. I honestly don't notice much difference between the two when casting them and I have put quite a bit of work on them recently.
  11. Yeah, with thin wire you have to be careful. Like @FishTanksaid, net them! I have found some of the best spinnerbaits I have used were trashed after 4-5 good fish. Even such, after each fish they need to be bent back into place to run true. The integrity of the wire suffers after being bent a few times.
  12. Magnetic braking systems are far more advanced than just adding magnets. You have to get a magnetic field properly aligned which requires having the magnets all oriented correctly, gaussing them to make sure they are close to each other. I wonder if the person that did this had any idea what they were doing? The aldebaran is one of the best reels...it doesn't need modded in this nature.
  13. The best spinnerbaits use very fine wire - they get more vibration that way. The cheaper ones usually use heavy gauge wire
  14. I use a Medium for Weightless Senkos. I also run 8 or 10# test though too.
  15. $250 for the lot, shipped in the lower 48.
  16. I am not a fan of any of the doyo platforms for beginners. They can be touchy or hit and miss when it comes to quality in my experience.
  17. My monkey wired brain can't wrap my head around fishing this light for any species...especially bass!
  18. I am aware - some of that IMO is those MA fish are caught in ponds. Pond fish/small body of water fish are different animals. They aren't pressured in the same way as reservoir fish and don't see tons of different techniques. They also can't get away from the angler and are used to be the biggest predator there - they literally eat everything that comes there way. For a pond bass to get big they need to eat a lot because they lose a lot of growth period in the winter months when it freezes over. A bass is a bass is a bass....right? I disagree. I constantly see people from the south and out west preaching about ways to catch big bass. Northern bass are hella different than those bass. The biggest bass in the NE are a LOT older than Florida strains in warm places. To get as big as some Northern bass they do they need to: A. Have an aversion to chasing down every lure they see. B. Hunt at night. C. Find cooler water to not burn as many calories. D. Have the right food sources and plenty of easy access to it. I equate it to a big 500 lb person...they want lots of food but they surely aren't going to chase down a food truck to get that meal. So a big fish is looking for big easy meals that aren't necessarily gonna get away from them or give them a hard time. A lot of times they like to pin their bait against a wall...for them that is the bottom of the lake or the surface. This obviously all my opinion but is based off of years of night fishing, fishing big baits and looking for big northern fish.
  19. Big lures catch big bass...sometimes. I have caught some of my biggest bass at night on wakes. Sometimes the jitterbug and crawlers just make too much artificial noise IMO and seem to scare big fish away in pressured waters. I have had the best luck with more subtle wakes like a Wad3 Hogg or other 3 piece lipped wake.
  20. I have 3 heavy rods - all Tatulas/elites. I love them and they do the trick.
  21. If the price isn't right, make an offer...
  22. Did you know a guy that use to have a track in his basement? I went there a few times to race superstores and screw around with TJets. I raced HO all over the country...lol
  23. In Horseheads NY? I raced a lot of TJets...I used to make parts for a JW
  24. That noise is like nails on a chalkboard to me. I am glad there are very few people I fish with that use them.
  25. 6th sense makes some good ones.
