  1. I got 3 of them about a week after I mailed my $15 dollar check. I was amazed at how quick they were
  2. Uhh, don't use 30lb test. I run 17lb for tossing a Deps 250
  3. If they are singing loudly on the cast it's more than likely the spool bearings. If they are basic tatula reels you need to take the side plate off and oil both spool bearings - one is held in by a retainer in the middle of the magnets and the other is under the endcap. You also want to oil the clutch cam bearing on the inside of the reel where you pulled the spool out of... The bearing that is notorious for getting rusty and locking up is the gear shaft bearing but that requires a whole teardown.
  4. Email the seller and ask if they combine shipping - but you already said it's discontinued so if you aren't willing to pay 20 dollars for 1, you don't want it too badly and can probably make another color work.
  5. If pond hopping I usually have 10 in my car...but what I take as I walk around: A new pond - I will take 3 Ponds I know - 1 or 2 Pond fishing is pretty simple, you know you are going to catch fish, you just have to decide what flavor you want to catch them on that day.
  6. 20 seconds to get to the bottom? You must be using lightweight jigs? I am usually running 3/4 oz+ for bottom contact and skipping.
  7. You need to work on your casting - sidearm it in there and while controlling the rod tip and line it will just lightly land in the water without much of a splash. Sometimes you want to overhand it and have them hear it but most of the time you want to just lightly put the lure in there. Basically the same way to cast large swimbaits.
  8. I called Daiwa USA with the part number back in December and got 2 of them with a bunch of other parts for reels I was working on...
  9. I will say if you have never used a cranking rod for cranking, you probably won't like it. They take some getting used to but do pin fish better and you get a better hook-up to landing percentage.
  10. Bluff walls are where the big girls are
  11. Probably 10 years. Maybe more
  12. I will still go up and knock - never hurts to talk to people. I don't care that times have changed, just be respectful and courteous.
  13. I have a bunch. I know. You can get them much cheaper direct than online. I got replacement SV spools from Daiwa for 35 bucks...
  14. I don't know about Shimano but Daiwa sells their stock handle assembly for around 30 bucks. It's crazy to me how expensive handles and knobs are...
  15. And it's really good. I am liking it - using it on my BFS rod and a couple moving bait rods now
  16. Magnum Rage Bug
  17. I use a lot of the high vis for lighter line techniques so you can see the line move. For any moving baits and heavy bottom contact stuff I use dark green or black if it is an option. Ever since I used copoly I have really liked it. I am a big Gamma fan - I can't remember the line failing me. Copoly is thinner for the strength and I like to push the limits on line diameter.
  18. Is that a rabbit hole I see? Better check it out... I run braid to leader on everything but there are so many different leaders to use for the situation. On my spinning reels I run 10 to 15# braid main line. On my bait casters I run 10# to 80# braid - mostly JBraid, smackdown and suffix 131; A few have maxquatro and spiderwire and all my swimbait rods have 50# silent flip. For leaders - Dropshot, hairjigs and Ned's- 5 or 6# fluoro. Jerkbaits- 8 or 10# fluoro Crankbaits - 8-10# fluoro or copoly maybe the occasional 12# fluoro Spinnerbaits and chatterbaits - 10 - 12# copoly. Wakebaits(swimbaits up to 6oz) - 17lb P-Line Topwater Gliders(swimbaits up to 6oz) - depending on the sink rate I want 15# -17# fluoro or 15-17# copoly. Swimbaits 3/4 oz to 1.5 oz - 12# fluoro or copoly depending on sink rate desired Texas rigs and jigs 1/2 or less - 10-15# fluoro Texas rigs and jigs over 1/2oz - 15#-20# fluoro Frogs- 50-80# straight braid Flipping sparse cover - 17# copoly Small topwaters - 10# copoly Buzzbaits- 12# copoly
  19. I use leader but I change it almost every time I go fishing.
  20. Gajo Spirit Shad, both sizes 4.5" to 6" Robo Worm
  21. Could be one of the factors - also, take the spool completely off the reel and soak it in very hot water for a few minutes. This will help erase the memory from when you put it on.
  22. There are many banned running shoes - the shoes have to conform to standards depending on the event and sport. You can't use a baseball cleat to play soccer...
