  1. I have the 7'1" dropshot rod and it's been my go to hover rig rod and neds. For dropshot I use a 7'0 tatula elite mostly.
  2. Almost all of my rods are Daiwa.I have 31 Daiwa rods.
  3. I love this combo, especially for throwing spinnerbaits!
  4. Thought it was interesting that Ike left Rapala/VMC. He's partnered with Berkley for a long time so I guess this is easier to deal with one company.
  5. Looks like a 200-300 size reel. Good size for most applications.
  6. For fluoro- Gamma or Tatsu For copoly - Gamma Braid - cortland silent flip or smackdown
  7. Not technically a flatside perse but has anyone looked at the new Rapala Balsa Shad raps? They look really good and have that subtle cold water wobble.
  8. Absolutely. Can you skip it better with a medium, yes but I can bomb on a senko on a mh baitcaster.
  9. Some of the rebellion rods were US only: https://www.daiwa.com/global/en/products/rebellion/ That's why I say they are gone. They may be reintroduced though!
  10. They are gone. I have the full 23-24 catalog and they are not in there. So if you can find them, I would buy them.
  11. Mine have been held up in customs for a few weeks - this is a first when ordering from Japan.
  12. I love my tatula 3000 cxh. It's amazing and I don't really like using spinning reels
  13. In clear water it works. I played with it a lot last year and caught a bunch blind casting
  14. This is the answer. Tatula SV's are very forgiving reels and workhorses. They WILL get noisy but that doesn't detract from their usability and effectiveness.
  15. Favorite makes exactly what you are looking for: https://favoriteusa.com/products/defender-casting-rod-1 I don't use their rods but I know one of their tournament pros and he does very well with them.
  16. Pfft. I not only match my rods to techniques, I match my reels with it too. I have way too many combos. Lol
  17. I am sure you could get away with using a moderate action rod for a jerkbait but you really need the fast action to get that effective quick snap. The problem with a MH fast is the trebles on a jerkbait are small so you would really need to get your drag dialed in properly or risk losing fish which may happen anyway since the rod won't absorb the headshakes and jumps as well. Depending on the MLF spinning rod, it may be your best choice for smaller rip baits. For jerkbaits I use MLF casting rods.
  18. I have made it the last 2 years now - going on 25 straight months now with a bass every month in Pennsylvania. A few were through the ice in 2022 but I managed an open water one in every month of 2023. 19. For frogging I use a Daiwa Arachnid which is essentially a Tatula 200. I like the 150 and 200 sizes for frogging because you can get a lot of line on those spools.
  20. The regular junior is very shallow - probably dives to 3-4 feet but out of the package they are a slow float and will come to the surface. I really am liking the x-80 trick darter for a smaller size. I would look into those.
  21. In the shorter ranges I would go St Croix Premier or get a custom. A lot of musky rods are 8-9.5 feet anymore.
  22. This. And if he is reputable you may want to consider outing him because this sounds peculiar.
  23. I easily have over 2k in chatterbaits... sigh
  24. I love my type r's. I always wanted to get one if the yellow Australian ones
