  1. $120 on Ali Express. Took 8 days to get it. The knobs feel like the SLW works ones. It comes with a drag clicker like the Zillions.
  2. We should not be teaching our children this but human emotions shouldn't just be disregarded. Not everyone has that inner zen.
  3. I have a system - one of my kids hold the spool on one of many different sized bolts with washers to tighten it up and I rell it on the spool. I always overfill it a bit because the next step is I go outside, tie it to a telephone pole and go down the road until the line is all out. I then lock down the drag and reel it in while keeping a lot of tension on it and watching it carefully to make sure the line lays properly. This has been working well for me for years!
  4. Sorry, I have seen many adult men throw tantrums; Athletes throwing equipment, helmets and stuff. I have seen more golfers than I can mention smash clubs and have total meltdowns. Tom Brady smashed a tablet on the sideline in his 40's. I can go on and on with athletes and professionals doing this stuff. When hold high expectations, emotions can run high. We absolutely should be able to remain calm and act calm and collected but things happen and curse words fly. In my 20's I had my share of meltdowns, it happens.
  5. He didn't purposely trash the American flag - he had a meltdown which, to me, is understandable when competing at that level and you have an issue like he did. The things he does for bass fishing and children can't be overlooked IMO. He seems to be a humble and funny dude when the camera isn't on him.
  6. The Type R has better spool bearings, a lighter zaion drag star and a lighter spool. I also believe they were more limited runs so a little more care was taken in their production.
  7. I looked up my order and it looks like I have the colors: Deadly Bait Flashing Wagasaki Sight Chart Fly Sweet Fish
  8. You are replying to a 7 year old thread! I hope the individual found a rod by now! Lol
  9. Same.
  10. I feel the bait doesn't run as true with both. I have been removing splits for years and years - ever since I had a split ring cut me off.
  11. I wish I could tell you- I ordered 4 colors but the packaging is all on Japanese
  12. The first thing I do on all cranks and jerks is take the split ring off. I use snaps for all of them.
  13. I don't see the riser being anywhere at all similar to the krej. The riser is one of the most situational and timing exclusive baits I have ever seen and I think a yellow magic or popper is a better option when you run into those scenarios. The krej is interesting but I agree with the take above that a spybait will work just as well in those situations.
  14. Did you take the shields off of the bearings when you cleaned them? Some of them you can take apart, others you can't. But if you can it's always best to so you can flush it better and check for deformed bearings.
  15. The best thing to do is use a spinning rod and reel - the guides are bigger and the way it slaps on the first few guides keeps them clean. Keep dunking the first few guides in the water to keep those clear and watch for Nicks in your line. As you notices braid is the worst. And everything I said kills me because I am a braid to leader guy and I hate spinning rods - but it's the best thing to do.
  16. I would get an ice fishing hut.
  17. There are a lot of megabass collectors that go crazy over certain colors. I recently traded 4 vision 110's in kingyo colorway for a 500 dollar reel. Honestly, before covid it was easier to get baits from Japan for super cheap - almost like people didn't know about it. You could get at least 100 colors of vision 110's and special edition colors and stuff.
  18. Definitely put it on a homemade jawjacker!
  19. I have a daiwa alphas with full ceramics, a shallow spool on a Dobyn's 7'4" Sierra Ultra Finesse. Thing works great for small hair jigs.
  20. Is this a collection of vision 110's?
  21. Crazy - this happens too often. And I am guilty as well having been out fishing on 2 1/2- 3 inches of ice. 2 years ago I fell through about 3 inches of ice, luckily it was shallow and I was able to get out but holy cow did that suck bad.
  22. It's a subtle difference that gives the bait more free range of motion. It works well to trigger those fish that are 50/50 on biting. It's not gonna be a huge difference IMO and won't get those fish that are lock-jawed to eat
  23. Ike does a lot for the sport and his Ike Foundation and what they do for kids is fantastic. Ike has been known to fish in our club on the back of a boat when he can and he's a pretty cool dude. Ike is one of the biggest names ever in the sport, I think him leaving a brand is different than most.
