  1. Does anyone know where I can get a Roro TX25S spool for a Daiwa Salamandura Air TW? I wanted to try one but they are OOS. Or is there something that may be equivalent out there? Thanks
  2. I think the best fluoro on the market, hands down is Gamma. I don't even look at others anymore.
  3. I have 3 Salamandura reels from there. Shipping takes a bit but the pricing is fair. Most of my reels are purchased from Japan because the prices are much better and shipping is much faster.
  4. Whats wrong with the small knobs? I freaking hate all the big ass knobs people are throwing on reels like gomexus.
  5. I have bought a few Salamandura's off Ali Express. No regrets.
  6. A lot of this is truth - look at their Tatula Spinning reels now - the newer MQ are heavier than the former LT. They moved some features to more expensive lines and they also removed the anti-reverse switch.
  7. When I was a younger 2 rod bank fisherman I fished straight 40 lb braid all the time. You get a lot more use out of the braid and at 40 lb it's thin enough to not really affect action on lures and thick enough, if you DO backlash, can easily be picked out. Don't use cheap fluoro - you will lose lures and that sucks. Moving baits like chatters you don't need a leader or copoly/fluoro and I am convinced it doesn't decrease your bites.
  8. The same reason you buy 10 crankbaits of the same color and only a few of them get bit. It's magic
  9. The older ones were too thick and exactly like you are thinking- the new ones are super lightweight and the hooks don't get stuck in them. The mesh ones attract treble hooks like crap attracts flies.
  10. The new light rod glove neoprene covers are the best I have had. I will eventually replace all of them with these
  11. Mostly gliders. Maybe a jerkbait and a hair jig briefly.
  12. I don't know what it is but the noise in that Heddon commercial is irritating.
  13. Hear me out - I put ceramics in a lot of my reels under the main gear and on the worm gear pawl. These are the two areas that may not get oiled as frequently and are subject to buildup and rust, so I put dry ceramics in and forget about them. Optionally( and you see this in some reels already) you can put in bushings since a ball bearing isn't needed here. I have serviced a lot of reels over my years and the two areas I mention are some of the biggest areas where rusted bearings rear their ugly head.
  14. Lews and Abu are one in the same... head on over and pick out your favorite unbranded Lews or Abu... https://www.doyofishing.co.kr/
  15. I don't know- when I have one hooked on a crank I am pretty confident I am going to land it. They don't usually shake them.
  16. Glidebait Jerkbait Float n fly Ned Rig A-Rig
  17. I dont throw them thinking about 4-5 lbers. I throw them for the 6lb+ fish that are harder to find but are there...
  18. He had a 14th and 18th place finish last year.
  19. I mean, you are wrong. He is a huge ambassador to the sport, including a lot of kids. To mark someone based off a few antics when he was younger while performing his job and passion is inane.
  20. I think to be a big league you need to have a lot more diversity as far as regions in the country go. Despite what Texas does for bass fishing, they shouldn't have 3 of the 10 events. And Florida doesn't need 2. It's no wonder that most bass fishing pros are in the South, the best majority of tournaments are during the spawn in the south. Bed fishing should be outlawed. Generally considered one of the worst classics ever was in Pittsburgh but I thought it was great seeing them figure out a really tough Fishery. I don't want to see these guys always catching 20+ lb sacks - that's just not the way most of the countries fishing is... They should definitely throw in 1 or 2 tidal Fisheries as well. Every major sport goes all over the country and many even expand to international countries. However BASS is stuck going to a few defined Fisheries and states. It really kind of stinks. They don't have coanglers and there are only 100 boats. They could do a little better and expand to other parts of the country and run the season all the way to November. I think they should run 1 event per month for the year. And as previously mentioned they could do all kinds of cool things - team events, buddy tournaments, etc. Fish like a lot of the local clubs around the country so the weekend anglers can relate more.
  21. I believe they should cut back the HP of these boats.
  22. https://www.facebook.com/share/p/zVg5y48E5vNB3nRM/?mibextid=oFDknk Thought this was an interesting take.
  23. There is nothing louder than smacking a 1oz jig off a pontoon at 630 in the morning.
