I am using a "regular spinning rod" from a kayak. I fish in lakes and this was in open water, but close to a bank.

Hi all, I lost 2 big ones today due to my line snapping. I have been using a 10lb monofilament. Any advice on what to switch to? I should add that I typically use 4 or 5 inch weightless senkos (usually 4) and am looking to maximize casting distance while maintaining line strength. Thanks in advance!

Many bass magazines out there. Which do you recommend to learn the ins and outs of bass fishing? Not so much interested in the latest and greatest gear, more on tips and tricks on how-where-when to fish.

Hello Everyone, I am new to fishing and am looking to increase my bites. I currently am not interested in only landing big bass and the lures I am using are a bit big for smaller bass and pan fish (crappie and blue gill in my area). What types of lures do you suggest that are a bit more universal, but that a bigger bass may also go after. So basically I am just looking to catch more fish and do not care so much about the species or size. I typically fish in small reservoirs in SW Ohio where the water has moderate to low visibility due to algae and sediment. Thanks in advance!
