So, after reading all of the comments concerning flexibility and power and IM6,8 etc I have decided to revert to my previous method of selecting a fishing rod, feel it out and make sure it has a brand name and warranty. I'm still using an Ugly Stik and a Berkeley Lightning Rod that I bought in the early 90's. I am beginning to fish for smallies now and need something in the "medium" power range. (I hate Spinning reel/rods). Lew's Hank Parker Casting Speed stick seems like a good buy and has excellent reviews at $40. If I were a Pro and had a contract to fish I probably would use whatever the sponsor said. And then I would swear it was the "Greatest Rod ever made". So, with that said I'll get back to those smallies in the New River.
