  1. You had better watch out. If you get to catching them on a jig much of your other stuff is apt to get dusty and rusty. I always have at least 3 jigs tied on in 3 different sizes.
  2. That was all that I used at the time. Then there was no talk about line color because there was no internet where it could be discussed. However, I found out the hard way about mono vs fluoro.
  3. I use the shrink tubing from Harbor freight in the $1.00 pack. It just cleans everything up and makes no way especially for the wire to hang.
  4. No but I will take and post one.
  5. I assume that you are using the R wire type of spinner baits. I have had that same problem. I have come up with a solution that works for me. I wrap the bend with braided line or floral wire then cover it with heat shrink tubing. That keeps the bend in place and the wire doesn’t get deformed and break. It hasn’t had any effect on the way the bait runs.
  6. I have never had the fg fail. I do 15 wraps, one half hitch, serve the knot, 2 half hitches, cut the leader tag, 2 half hitches, rizzuto.
  7. When I target smallmouth I basically use three baits; a TRD Ned rigged, an Elaztech worm rigged shaky and a jig specifically a Jewell Pee Wee which I carry in 3 sizes.
  8. Age is the main factor for me with living rubber skirts. Mine are in 3700 boxes in the boat. If they get to be a couple of years old the strands can deform and even stick together but that doesn’t happen often. I have heard but not tried talcum powder to preserve them.
  9. No recommendation just a question, why 6# specifically? Thanks
  10. I fish Table Rock a lot and it is like two different worlds from one river (James) system to the other (White). They don’t stay on a pattern for more than a few days. Fishing from a kayak you will be limited in coverage. Pomme de Terre is a relatively small lake. If you haven’t already tried it you might want to.
  11. I guess I couldn’t come because I’d be bringing jigs. Specifically the Jewell Pee Wee in First Down or Bass Whacker and I would have to have some trailers.
  12. I have 4 of them. I use them for crank baits, light weight jigs and shaky head.
  13. I heat with wood so I am hauling wood in and ashes out all the time in cool weather so I really don’t want a campfire.
  14. The Xpress has good lift and a nice ride.
  15. I had an older Dual Pro charger that one bank went on the fritz. I called Dual Pro seeking advice. Their advice was to order a new one from them at a significant discount.
  16. Balance is more important to me than weight. I’ve moved into the custom world. My rod builders choose the blank and components to fit with the weight of the reel that will be mounted on a specific rod. So far so good.
  17. My wife’s birthday is coming up. I’ll take it all.🤣
  18. Me nothing, because we get hundreds of them coming down the James River arm of Table Rock Lake every time we get a big rain.
  19. Clenzoil on rod and outside of reels
  20. You can “feather” the line with your finger as the bait reaches the water. That will reduce the possibility of loose line on the spool, then keep your finger on the spool as you close the bail by hand not with the reel and be sure to look at the spool before you begin your retrieve. That done over and over will be engrained in your procedure. You should eliminate the knot issue.
  21. 90° seems extreme to me.
  22. $1 plus shipping. I don’t have any use for them.
  23. Allen is spot on about wheel weights. They contain all kinds of stuff that are not good for you. Some contain zinc which can damage your pot. If you can’t get lead locally, lots of jig makers buy from RotoMetals. They have more than one type of lead.
  24. I put mine on a shuttle slide so I have more room at the steps.
  25. Pitzen
