I start nearly every trip power fishing. I give it several places with several baits. After about an hour I pull out the jig, shaky and Ned. I’m there to catch fish by what ever method it takes.
Lately Ned is all that I can get them to bite.
I have one tied on all of the time, however, from May to fall I have not been able to get anything to bite them. I have wondered if my baits were too large but haven’t tried smaller ones.
Have you tried heads with weedguard?
The lakes around here are very rocky. I was buying my tubes by the 100 count as I was losing so many. I decided to modify my tube jig head mold to accommodate a weedguard. I now use 90# surflon coated leader as my weedguard molded into the head. I don’t lose a fraction of the tubes that I used to.
Just know that cadman may be the best powder paint multi color artist in North America. Everything he posted is an absolute except he sees it as a lot easier than the rest of us.
It looks painted to me but if you think it isn’t then you could coat it with Devcon epoxy or you might just use clear Hard as Nails fingernail polish. They even have it with glitter. I sometimes coat spinner bait heads with it.
Thanks for the replies from those of you who use it. Also thanks for the extra application tips. I think I will put some on my Yozuri and see how I like. I will also give some fluorocarbon a shot.
I use the Mustang that has a single strap down the back and one around your waist. A friend who works for the COE said that is what the government provides for them. Mine is the least cumbersome and least bothersome pfd that I have ever had and I have had a lot over the years.
