I’ve never seen an R wire spinnerbait that wouldn’t bend out unless it is modified. I use War Eagle or make my own. I wrap the R loop with braided line or floral wire. Then I cover it with heat shrink tubing. They bend, but not badly. I haven’t had a broken wire in years.
The top one is homemade. The bottom one is War Eagle.
Redundant I guess. For example, yesterday I had 2 jig setups, 2 shaky, and 3 Neds on the deck along with 1 spinner bait on the deck. It was a bit crowded.
There is starting to be a big jig (1oz) bite on gravel points and flats. It varies. Sometimes the boat needs to be in 40’ with the fish in 25-30. Sometimes they are shallower. There’s also been a top water bite.
Two guides: Pete Wenners and Eric Prey have weekly reports.
It was the conversation with Allen that got me to thinking about it. You know what Table Rock is like. Even with a weedguard I still lose several.
Which ones have you used?
It may be reaction time. I read a study once where reaction time was discussed. It stated that a human’s reaction time is 3/4 of a second while a bass’s is 1/25 of a second. If this is the case it is a wonder we ever catch one.
You are more likely to have issues caused by the trolling motor than the two depth finders. I have had as many as 3 units on the same battery with no interference.
Your units might “cross talk” if their sonar cones overlap.
We’ve been having 95-100% humidity most mornings. I try to fish early and leave by midday. My extra cooler filled with ice and water allows me to keep a wet cool endura cloth around my neck.
I try to fish 100 days a year and have for a long time. I’ve never had that happen to me. If I did I believe that I would say look me in the eyes and see if I give a —— what you are doing.
I fish it a lot and carry 5 setups.
Gloomis ml bronzeback/Curado 70
2 Gloomis Gl 3 ml/Shimano Symmetry 1000s
2 Fenwick HMG ml/Shamino Stradic 2000s
All have Yozuri hybrid 6# line.
I say trolling motor with spot lock #1, new electronics #2. Power Poles maybe #3 maybe not at all. I had Power Poles on my boat for 2 years and used them maybe 10 times. My boat is usually setting in water too deep for them to do me any good. Spot lock is the bomb and spot lock jog is super.
