  1. When I go deep (over 30’) it is with a jig or spoon. I’m normally fishing points, bluffs or bluff ends. Spoons I vertical jig at what ever depth I want. With jigs I like to have the boat in 50’ of water casting to more shallow and working it back. The under 30’ depths get jigs, shaky, tubes or Trigs.
  2. My boat came with one and a storage slot by the live wells. Before that I had one that I made from a 1x6. I used a dado blade and cut a slot for a section of a yard stick (18”). Then I put an end stop on it. It lived under my console by my feet.
  3. I’d be looking at a permanent solution like boxing in the ceiling and be done with it. That’s what I had to do to keep robins from nesting in the curve of my down spouts.
  4. I recently sold a rod to a guy in Alabama. I had a pvc tube to put it in. I packed it up and went to the UPS store expecting to pay around $40 for shipping. They measured it and weighed it then told me that shipping would be $248.00. I ran screaming from the store. I drove to the USPS office where I got it shipped, including extra insurance, for $32.00. Is this a normal thing with UPS being so expensive?
  5. Agree totally. Sometimes I have to cut mine off with a knife. I did have a guest who was having that trouble. It turned out that he was putting too much Super Glue Gel on the TRD. A Very tiny drop spread around then pressed to the head is all that I use even with ZinkerZs.
  6. I only am concerned with whether or not there is salt on a trailer or near. Otherwise I just put them away.
  7. I don’t know your unit so I can’t comment on the clarity. I have had a lot of experience with modern electronics and how much juice they use. You probably need a much bigger cranking battery or a house battery strictly for electronics in order to stop the low voltage shut down.
  8. Only way I remember is one of my customers was big on them back when I sold boats and that was 20.

I have no personal experience but I read on a Texas forum a few years ago where a guy did a personal study on it with his vehicles. His conclusion was a loss of power and mileage that didn’t compensate for the lower price.
  10. It was over 20 years ago around here.
  11. Have you tried down sizing them. I cut mine to 640x640 so they load fast.
  12. I fish the north central part of Table Rock lake up in the river where the water is dingy and the bass don’t go deep. The southern end is over 50 miles by water so I don’t go there.
  13. I used to have a 200’ double wide one. I resealed it every 4-5 years. I did it myself with a 2’ squeegee. I bought it in 5 gallon cans.
  14. Due to a cancellation I have 100 4/0 and 100 3/0 as well as lots of 2/0s left.
  15. I have been going during the day and doing fine. I took my neighbor yesterday. We fished from 7:30-2:30 and caught 52 bass with 7 nice keepers. All were caught on shaky using Elaztech worms. The water was 88° and the air was 87°. What works for me is take ice water to drink in my Yetti cup and a cooler of ice water for my Endura cloth. I keep it wet with the ice water and wear it around my neck.
  16. Only those of my own making. I’ve had mine 3 years. I try to fish at least 2 times per week. A couple of times it came unpaired with the remote but that is an easy fix.
  17. Swiss Army Knife and Uncle Henry’s Stockman are with me any time I have pants with pockets.
  18. I’d start by killing all the grass in the area where the garden will be located. Then I’d get compost and cover the area with at least 4 inches of it. Keep the grass and weeds out until next spring then till the ground to get it ready to plant.
  19. Unless he knows what he is doing, take it to a shop.
  20. I fish worms year around. I throw Elaztech 5” worms on a shaky weedless 2/0 VMC EWG hook with a Midwest finesse head.
  21. If your lighter fluid doesn’t contain naptha you might be better served with acetone. Changing to a different blade configuration might help.
  22. Those break offs are what made me switch to fluorocarbon and quit using braid for bottom contact techniques. Buy some Yozuri hybrid line and put the braid away for a while.
  23. I completely disagree. I’m not anti gun but I have close relatives in law enforcement who put their lives on the line every day.
  24. Mine are set on 1. I took them out today with a 1/2 oz casting plug. It took a little spool knob tightening but in a few minutes they were flawless. I tied on 1/2 oz War Eagle spinnerbaits and will use them in the morning.
