  1. Suspended bass are what we are catching right now. We had 40 last trip and 30 the trip before that. They have been from 20’ and deeper over 50-70’ of water. The most productive way for us has been using Keitech swim baits on 1/4 and 3/8 oz heads. There is no rhyme or reason to just what will work. Sometimes they want a 3.3 and sometimes a 3.8. Typically a count down then slow retrieve, stop, count down, repeat until something works. Early the other day a 1/4 and 3.3 down 10 seconds then retrieve worked with a white one. Later it took a 3.8 baby bass magic on 3/8 head and a 20 second countdown to get a bite. You just need several setups and be willing to change your retrieve.
  2. I just bought some Graphene tire shine. I’ll see how it works.
  3. Here you go. I never go to Springfield without dropping by. https://stores.basspro.com/us/mo/springfield/2011-s-campbell-avenue.html?y_source=1_NTk0Mjg5MS03MTUtbG9jYXRpb24ud2Vic2l0ZQ%3D%3D
  4. I used to but now I have a cooler of ice water in the boat and an Endura cloth. I dunk it, squeeze out the excess and wrap it around my neck. That is all of the cooling off that I need.

    FYI

I had one of those welders. It’s a glorified soldering iron just waiting to burn you or melt carpet if you use it in the boat. Mend-It is so much better for me. When my Mend-It runs low, I’ll just get a can of the pvc glue and refill the Mend-It bottle. I’m mending Keitech swim baits all the time.
  6. I use the Troker swim jig mold. I use a 4/0 hook.
  7. What I have looks good but like I said it doesn’t last. I don’t want to reapply every trip or every other trip. I keep Bow to Stern on the boat so usually a wipe down with a wet rag keeps it clean. Five minutes does the job. If I could just get the tires to stay shiny.
  8. I didn’t even know that there was a fluorocarbon leader line. I just take mine off the spool of whatever size I want.
  9. I use that on seats but haven’t on tires.

    FYI

I recently had a plumber install a new water softener. While he was there I used some Mendit to fix a Keitech. He asked what I was doing. When I told him he said, “That stuff smells like pvc glue.” He went to his truck and came back with a can. They smelled the same. So I took a brush hog and split the end about an inch. I used a Qtip to dip into the pvc glue and wiped it on the cut. I pressed them together and laid it down. After a few minutes I checked it and it was as good as new. I will be buying me a can of that stuff.
  11. I recently had to replace the tires and wheels on my boat trailer. They haven’t had time to “bloom” yet. Every tire shine product I’ve tried washes off with a couple of trips to the lake. Is there anything that will last for quite a while?
  12. That’s a long way. The reason I asked is the BPS Outlet gets hundreds of refurbished reels which sell on the cheap. I talked to a guy there one day who was buying like 2 dozen reels. He said he has a shop about 1 1/2 hours out and he had sold over 500 of them.
  13. I have caught a bunch on it. I have even bought a mold so I can make my own. I particularly like green pumpkin with red or chartreuse tails. I Texas rig them with light bullet weights for post spawn smallmouth.
  14. How far from Springfield?
  15. Those fish don’t need to be fizzed. We’ve caught dozens of them and none have shown any signs of distress. Our biologists say not to do it anyway.
  16. Yes it is. Even with a 3/8 oz head it takes forever to get a 3.8 Keitech down. I’m hoping the 1oz blade will sink as fast.
  17. They usually are 10-20’ off the bottom.
  18. 1 oz is as big as I have so it will have to do. We will be taking my boat next time with Mega Live.
  19. We are catching bass 30-50 feet down over 50-70 feet of water. We are doing pretty well with swim baits. Yesterday 35 of our 43 came from there. We also have used casting spoons and jigging raps without success. Im thinking that I would like to use a bladed jig. I’ve got some 1oz heads baking and plan to tie them up this afternoon. Have any of you used a bladed jig this deep?
  20. Millennium are the most comfortable that I have ever seen. I have them in my Nitro.
  21. What head and size hook are you using?
  22. Mine are usually fished where they have a short life expectancy so they get lost way before they get worn out.
  23. I have a couple. My best one works when she isn’t busy doing something else.
  24. After much practice I decided to do one setup for tomorrow with the GG. I’ll be in my boat with backups in the rod locker. I put a casting plug on it and threw it a few times. Even with the Sally Hansen’s on it I couldn’t feel it going through the eyelets. If it is as strong as people say, then I an a new convert. Thanks for the responses.
