  1. Why not call Minn Kota customer support and ask your questions. They are really helpful folks.
  2. More likely than not.
  3. There is Ipilot and Ipilot link. Take the time to research them before you go spending hard earned cash. I bought Ipilot it very unsatisfactory. It cost me $800 to upgrade to link on my Ulterra.
  4. It is common to go 50-60’ deep around here. Bass and walleye don’t really get the bends.
  5. Installing later is quite expensive.
  6. I’ve owned Champion, Ranger and Nitro. I’ve also fished lots of hours in a Bass Cat. I have a Nitro now but it isn’t as good as my Champion was or the Bass Cat that my friend had. Champion was better built than Ranger while Genmar owned both but Irwin Jacobs put way more money into Ranger advertising than Champion because of the profit margin. When John L. Morris bought both companies he destroyed the Champion molds. I can’t honestly say which is the best because I only fish from my Nitro and a friend’s Phoenix. If I were in the market for a new boat I would devote some serious time studying the Phoenix. The actual boat isn’t as important as the electronics and the trolling motor.
  7. New ones that I have fished produced lots of fish on lots of different baits but we haven’t had any for a long time.
  8. That is typical behavior for smallmouth and spots here in our highland reservoirs though we don’t normally see them as we are fishing deeper than we can see. Largemouth are not as likely to be that way most of the time. When I am in an area with smallmouth and spots, if one comes unbuttoned I don’t give up on the cast because others close by generally will rush to the bait.
  9. I’ve been to 49 states but haven’t fished in many. I just fish around here in Missouri and northern Arkansas. There are 7 lakes from 30 to 100 miles from me ranging in size from 15,000 acres to 55,000 acres so I have so many to choose from that I don’t venture far from home. Table Rock is the one I fish most and it alone has 1000 miles of shoreline. I just try to reach my yearly goal and I have two months to get 17 more bass.
  10. Sam’s Club is another good place to get agm batteries.
  11. I thought this would be all over the place. Thanks for the responses.
  12. A friend of mine works for the Corps of Engineers. He said they only wear the Mustang like MN Fisher recommends so I bought one. It stays in the boat and has done great for 3 years.
  13. So far I am limiting myself to 3 head colors; chartreuse over white, gray over white and gray.
  14. If you have an Auto Zone near you can probably get a dual purpose agm 24 series for less money. You will get better and longer run time with the highest rc that you can find.
  15. Not at all since spot lock
  16. Same as any other time; jigs, swim baits, Shaky head, Ned. Spots are the number one fish in the upper rivers on Table Rock.
  17. I switched to it last spring. It has out performed any other main line to leader knot that I have ever used. It is getting close to the applications where I use those setups. I have 12# fluorocarbon tied to 15# braid. They haven’t been used since spring. I’m thinking they all should be redone. Do you guys retie them after that much time or just keep going?
  18. Have you looked at the Do-It football jig mold that takes a flat eye? I have one and there are lots of hooks that work in it. I’ve recently been using a Gammy 114 in 2/0 to make small profile jigs. It is a 90° hook and fits just fine.
  19. What method will you be using to paint them?
  20. I kept a record of the barometric pressure in my fishing log for a few years. I could never find a correlation to it and how the fishing was so I quit recording it.
  21. X2 on what Allen said. Once Mustad outsourced to China their quality went down. Meanwhile Eagle Claw quality went up.
  22. Allen I catch most of mine on sight flash, Tennessee shad, blue chartreuse, sun gill and smallmouth magic.
  23. There is no need to get that drastic. Take some time and explore your options. After all you have only gotten my advice. Someone else may offer you a solution.
  24. Good luck with that project. Custom cnc molds will run you hundreds for each style and you would have to do your own pouring. Google spin casting and see what is involved in making them.
