  1. If that doesn't work and the tmotor is a tiller, you might run the boat the other way and use reverse to slow down. I used to do that with a jon.
  2. I think it will do just fine. The trouble I see with braid is when guys set the hook too hard. On your crank setup you probably won't even have to set the hook or if you do then, lightly.
  3. That is very sound advice IMO.
  4. Good quality spinning reels don't inherently twist line. Go with the Symmetry since it has a roller bearing instead of a roller bushing. I have several Symmetrys and Stradics and don't have any line twist problems unless I am using tubes and drop shot which will twist any line because of the way the come in when retrieved quickly.
  5. I know a guy who used JB Weld on an alum jon and kept it going for 25 years. Give it a try for a few bucks it might be great.
  6. I don't know how you are getting line twist with spinnerbaits. If you want you can take a pair of pliers and make that R bend into an eye so you won't have any sliding if you keep using swivels.
  7. There are lots of different ways to fish in the winter. Technically it is still fall but the water is in the mid 40s and the fish are about 25' deep here. Yesterday jigs and tubes got my pard and I 10 keepers out of 15 bass. Vertical fishing with tubes, jigs, drop shot and spoons also work on some days as well as jerk baits but I prefer the jig.
  8. I like the Alberto's knot for combining the two. http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml
  9. The jig worked well today in MO. We had 10 keepers from 2.5-5#.
  10. They come with batteries when the dealer sells the boat to an individual, but they are put in at the factory. The dealer should not be expected to pay for them unless he is making some money on the deal.
  11. If I'm seein' what I think I'm seein' (inside a box lid) then the white must be glue the black part of the lid lining and the brownish orangish raw fiberglass.
  12. Generally a piece of 2X4 and a hammer will pop an xducer out. Be sure to sand or grind all of the old glue away before you make the install of the new one. BTW: Be sure to tie a cord onto the old wire when you pull it out then you can pull the new one right back up the same path.
  13. I fish 30# Power Pro Hi Vis Yellow because that is what I have on most all of my setups. I can feel those subtle nudges that mono didn't let me know about.
  14. Wouldn't it be a lot easier to use small zip ties instead of messing around with collars and tools? Even bread sack wrappers would work pretty easy.
  15. I have the auto SOSpenders. I wear them in cold weather when I have a lot of bulky clothes on. That way I can put them on and keep them on without the bother of taking a vest off and on.
  16. Here is some food for thought for you. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1227975207
  17. Looks good to me. Send me a couple of dozen and I'll let you know how they work.
  18. The higher end will be higher next month. Low is coming out with HD units which may blow the current market away but they seem to be pricey. I have 520c units and don't plan to change.
  19. On lots of trips I wind up only using jigs and nothing else. When I started bass fishing I only owned plastic worms. Like stated master those two baits then move on. There is no reason to own a lot of stuff when starting out.
  20. Nautilus NG24, If I am right that is an Exide battery. They make some good stuff. I am running a set right now. If you want more power for longer then go to a 27 series with more reserve amps. Mine are 182 RA in the 27 series and they will keep my 82# Tmotor going all day with no visible drop in power.
  21. Just get you a little propane torch and heat away. We have been changing bends and eye positions on hooks for years.
  22. I tried the uni to uni and didn't like the size of the knot. I switched to the Alberto's knot. It is small and needs no glue. http://www.stripersonline.com/Pages/Articles/article_arby_albertos_knot.shtml
  23. I really don't know anything about any Berkley product. I do own 7 HMG rods. They are as sensitive as my Gloomis IMX rods just a bit heavier.
  24. I fish jigs every time I hit the water. I use the same hooks for 3/8 as I do for the 1/2. I go strictly on feel and the 1/2 feels too heavy for me. I use the 1/2 and more on MH or H. JMO.
  25. You bet and none of the lakes I fish are covered by good 1' Nav yet so I went with Hot Spots Pro.
