  1. I gave up on the Ds and got rid of mine. I have several levels of S spinning including the Sahara and Symmetry reels. If you will use it a bunch, I'd get the Symmetry. I have some of them that are 11 years old and have been used a bunch. An occasional cleaning and once in a while an antireverse clutch is all they have had done to them.
  2. I remelt mine and make them into new baits. Find a bait maker and see if he will take your old plastics and recycle them. Just don't save him any Gulp as they still stink even when recycled.
  3. I don't understand what you mean by installing an upgrade from one unit to another. However, if your 5x is capable of seeing the lss1 structure scan then the ethernet cable is how it is done.
  4. Gman if you can swing it the 8 has way more features than the 7. One of my friends has bird and I can't stand to look at his 2d sonar. Low is much better. The down and side are close to the same except Low has 3 crystals in the ducer and bird has to do computer manipulations for part of theirs. As for customer service, I have never had issues with them and I have been using their techs for info for a lot of years.
  5. It is hard to say since I don't know the rules for your state. Here in MO our law states that people can't sit in the up seats if the boat is going faster than trolling speed.
  6. If you only heat the jig head to the point where the paint goes on and looks "powdery and dull" then it is a thin coat and should not run when baked. I use superglue gel for holding the weedguards. It is quick and easy and dries in just a couple of minutes.
  7. Those are nice looking. I don't normally put weedguard in mine as I am not bumping or hopping around cover or structure.
  8. Most people have an inflated opinion of what their stuff is worth. They don't think things depreciate as fast as they actually do. Add ons are a lot more valuable to the seller than they are to the buyer because they remember what they paid for them not what they are worth now. When you are looking at NADA be sure to check the *** to see what is included in the price. Sometimes it is the whole package and sometimes it excludes the trailer and/or motor. When that is the case you have to look them up seperately and add them.
  9. Yes loosen them. I keep mine loose on all my BC reels until I put a bait on them in the boat. When I put them away I loosen them before they go in the rod locker.
  10. The volcanoes just show that the air is coming through. When this happens to me I turn the air down a bit and stir the paint. They usually go away. Use silicone instead of glue. Put the medium on a flat surface and place the cup on the silicone, press it down and go away.
  11. Looks a lot like my version of cotton candy.
  12. I use the small wipes that are for TV and computer monitors from Wally World along with a micro fiber cloth. They get all the water spots off easier than anything else I have ever used.
  13. Most of the time I fish an exposed hook but I add a weedguard to it.
  14. I am running 2 hds 8 units with lss1 front and back. I can't see a lot of difference in the down and side of L vs B but I don't like the B 2d sonar at all.
  15. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I use UG Glove golf rain gloves.
  17. You might get something from this, http://www.bassresource.com/fishing/Reel_Care_tips.html
  18. I run a Low my bud runs a Bird. They both get the job done for us.
  19. I'd want to know who has the current Pro Qualifier contract. Some of them used to come from places like Korea and they weren't quality.
  20. I haven't repaired boat seats but have 4 wheeler seats with the vinyl repair stuff from the auto parts store. You might check that out as an option.
  21. Without spending a bunch of money you can heat them in an stove oven or a toaster oven. If you have a heat gun or a small propane torch they will work. You can take a small cheap makeup brush and dip it into the powder, hold it over the heated head and tap the brush to get the powder to fall on the head and paint it. Rotate the head until it is all painted. I do this when I want to put 2 or more colors on a jig head.
  22. That ratio I would call a medium cranking reel. If you want to go real deep then you need a 3.8:1 so it doesn't work you to death.
  23. For 3/8 I use a Gloomis 6'6" and 1/2 Gloomis 7'.

  25. Never overlook a jigging spoon. Tubes and jigs are also good for me. How long before you get hard water up that way?
