  1. I've had mine for about 5 years. It is the best scale that I have ever used. It also works for holding a fish that has a multiple hook bait in its mouth.
  2. If you go for a 2 stroke be sure to get the direct injection engine not electronic fuel injection. They are as easy on gasoline as 4 strokes. I have been running the same 2 stroke direct injection engine for 11 years and if I keep the rmps 4500 and below it gets very good mileage. WOT is a whole different issue but I don't fish derbys so I rarely need WOT.
  3. My boat is bigger than that so I'd only be guessing. My Champion 206 was bid in at a fiberglass shop for $1000. If your boat dealership doesn't have an inhouse carpet guy, go find someone yourself as the dealership will likely up charge you 10-20% for just making a phone call or two.
  4. I don't know about the potty cleaner but limeaway is fine to use on the cowling. Like stated earlier I have been using it for 10 years on my Optimax.
  5. Meguires mirror glaze is the best thing going for vinyl. If it were me I clean the seats then remove them if the boat is going to be in storage.
  6. I just cleaned my boat and motor yesterday after a 5 week fishing trip where it was in and out of the water daily and setting on the trailer in a campground. I put limeaway on a wet rag and wiped everything down then rinsed it off. It looks great.
  7. Ted I have been using Lime Away on my Champion for 11 years. I use it on the motor and on the boat. It does a great job of cleaning. I never wax my boat. I have tried lots of products and Bow to Stearn is the best I have used. I switched to it from BBS because it lasts longer and the cleanup when I get home is a wet rag and a towel.
  8. I know nothing about keeping a bass in a fish tank except here in MO one has to get a permit from the Conservation Department in order for that to be legal.
  9. I wear rain gloves from US Gloves. Sometimes they are in the golfing department at Bass Pro. They run me around $12 per pair. I have been using them for at least 10 years.
  10. When I first started night fishing I practiced in my yard by making casts with my eyes closed. When I got comfortable with that I could go whether or not there was a moon. It just takes repitition and you will get to where you are very comfortable under any conditions.
  11. Forget the settings and use the 10 amp.
  12. I don't go fishing to chat. I go to fish. I try to go where no one else is if I can. I want to plan and think. I don't even run the radio on the way there as it might interfere with my thoughts.
  13. Just buy some other colors.
  14. I always buy stainless screws for that kind of job.
  15. I run a MG TE82 and pull a 20.5 boat. I have had it for 11 years and have used a few different batteries. I fish 80-100 days per year and fish in a lot of windy conditions. I fish into the wind so I really pull batteries hard. I got tired of the mess of lead acid batteries so I tried the AGMs a couple of years ago. I bought Optima blue top from Auto Zone. Even though their listed reserve capacity is quite a bit less than I am used to, I haven't been able to tap their strength. They are as strong when the day ends as they were when the day began. When I need another set, I'll go back to Auto Zone and buy more Optimas. I don't run an Optima on the cranker because I have a bunch of electronics and a 225 Optimax which takes a lot of juice to start. There I have the Sears Die Hard 1150 CCA AGM.
  16. Before you start to think about money you should think about the size of the water that you will be fishing. You may only need a jon but then again you may need a big boat. Start there then decide what you want on the boat. That should lead you to a more informative idea of what and how much.
  17. It won't go away here unless the MDC bans it state wide. Until then I'll be using it occasionally when it works.
  18. I run the Seard Die Hard agm as a cranker and Optimas on the Tmotor.
  19. I like to clean mine at the lake in the parking lot and leave the carcuses behind for the catfish so I use a cordless electric. I have gone through a few over the last 20 years and now have the Rapala Ion with the lithium battery. I have used it for over a year and cleaned several hundred crappie, white bass and walleye with it. It is pricey but so are most of out fishing related toys. As far as wasting meat, I can get as much with this knife as I can my old Rapala which I carry as a backup.
  20. I use snap ring pliers.
  21. You have been given some good advice. Infinite variable is the only way to go for maximum boat control. If your battery were only a year old it probably would be fine. When you get batteries look at the reserve capacity. 180+ will run all day long and leave you with plenty of power at the end of the day. If money is an issue, get a portable charger to use on the cranker because if you don't run a lot of accessories it shouldn't need to be charger a lot or real often.
  22. Thanks for the ideas. I'm planning on trying them out this evening. I have probably 60 targets in mind and usually 20-30 of them have fish so I should be able to experiment and see what works. Here are some of the things I plan to try.
  23. Nice video Mike. Where was it taken?
  24. Look at tackleunderground for the soft plastic cook book. There are lots of recipes there. Copy the ones you want to your clipboard and transfer them to your own microsoft word folder. That way you can have what you want and access it any time or print it out and have it in your shop.
  25. I've been catching several bass on spinnerbaits lately but missing several also. I don't use a trailer and have put trailer hooks on to see it that helped. It didn't. Last time out I caught some under the "chin". That makes me think that they are hitting the blades. I'm not quite sure what to do about it. I'm going back this afternoon and may try some dull colored blades and see if that helps. Any other ideas?
