  1. I've use several types of thread and wire but the wire is much faster for bass jigs.
  2. I have been doing it for years on my deep vertical baits that I fish in the late fall and winter. I can change them a lot easier in the cold weather and I use a fluro leader which attaches to braid. I keep a dozen or so rigged up that way all the time though I don't use a loop. I use a split ring and hook it to a good quality snap.
  3. I'm thinking you need some kind of lights so others can see you when you move about to keep from being run over by another boat.
  4. Yep even when being helpful. It is hard to catch the other man's fish.
  5. Get you a lock n haul. It will stabilize the motor without touching the trailer. I have been using one for several years.
  6. Most of the structure scan transducers are located at a place on the boat that comes out of the water way before plane. I can't get much above a fast idle with mine.
  7. Zoom swimmin' chunk for me.
  8. There isn't room enough for me and music in a boat. I don't want any distractions when I am fishing. I rarely see wildlife on the bank or in the air because I mostly look at my target and watch my line. Music in the boat would drive me crazy.
  9. I think you left the best ride out of your list. Champion is the best ride I have been in and that is why I bought one.
  10. That WG gets in my way. It is the last thing I do.
  11. They all tie about the same. The thing to do is all of the tying before installing any weedguard. Go to some of the web stores like Barlow's, Jann's Netcraft, Lure Parts on Line, Lurecraft, etc. See what they offer then check with Siebert Outdoors or Cadman and see what kind of deal you can get on heads of your choice.
  12. Be sure that you have your Lss box hooked up to power. How is your lss ducer installed? Do you have any pics?
  13. You should go over to www.tackleunderground.com and have a look at the dos and don's for newbies. There is a ton of info there and most of it will benefit you if you get into making your own baits.
  14. I have from time to time. I have used wood and Styrofoam but prefer the H type made of plastic.
  15. Not familiar with the MK but I have Dual Pro and it is a very good unit. After one bank went out on the original after 10 years of hard use, they gave me a good deal on a new one.
  16. X2 I run a 10 boom sprayer doing the same thing. I hook it to a plugin on the back of my truck. It is wired to the tail lights so I have a switch for off and on.
  17. Jigs and all of the molds, lead, skirt materials, hookes and weedguard.
  18. You have a good start with an idea. You can keep the cost down buying precast heads and attaching the skirts. Cadman might even sell you some jig heads or you can look at Janns, Barlows, Lure Parts on Line, Lure Craft, etc.
  19. I want all of my stuff to feel and work the same so I don't have to guess at night. So I buy Shimano Curados and Gloomis IMX rods. Just the stiffness and weight of the bait is the only difference when I pick up a setup.
  20. Where did you see that info? Was this a survey, study or just your impression. I don't know anyone who doesn't like to do it at least part of the time.
  21. Trigging works fine. I especially like to do it and have a bell sinker inside the tube. That is the most weed less way I have found to fish it.
  22. I fish the same colors and same baits as I do during the day. I use a light on my cap like the others. Sometimes I use my black lights and sometimes I don't. I don't use a spot light. I we have a 30 mph speed limit in MO so I don't need it. I use a gps for navigation. I have heard that dryer sheets will keep mosquitos away but haven't need to use them yet though I have them in the boat just in case. I wear light colored clothes as that is supposed to help keep them off.
  23. One of my buds has 2 birds. I have 2 Lows. I think his side and down are better than mine while my 2d sonar is better than his.
