  1. I see no need for the switch if only the hds units are wired on this circuit. All you have to do is wire them in with the fuses in place. The toggle would serve no purpose since you have to power down the units to keep from corrupting data.
  2. The Sears Pm-1 is what I use and have had for 3 years now.
  3. X3 I have one and it is exactly what I needed to keep 2 hds units and aerator going and start my Optimax without the voltage drop.
  4. If you are going for 2 hds units be sure to get a cranking battery with lots of cca so you'll have plenty of voltage all day long to start up and not drop your hds units as they need quite a bit of juice to keep running.
  5. You may need a good cranker depending on your outboard and electronics. I had to got with the Sears 1150 cca agm to keep up the voltage so my units would not shut down at startup with my Optimax. I run 2 Low hds units with a 225 Opti. It takes a lot of juice to make it with adequate voltage running a livewell pump and my units.
  6. Have you considered buying jig heads already poured and painted? You could pick your head style, colors and weights then have them made up. You could then add the skirts to customize them the way you want. Seibert Outdoors or Cadman may make you a good deal. You can pm them on this site.
  7. I throw from 1/4 to 1 oz depending on the situation and water conditions. Mostly I fish the 3/8 or 1/2. As for brand, I make my own. I have tried the store brands and find that they aren't any better than mine.
  8. They look good. I wish I had the skill.
  9. Call Lowrance tech service. They should be able to help you.
  10. That looks like a cooling shrinkage problem to me. Try the copper fittings and maybe a few degrees hotter plastisol.
  11. I bought one when they fist came out I believe it was called a SOS pender.
  12. Well if you find an answer be sure to let us know. I have used most every brand made and they all seem to have this problem on some of the baits.
  13. The Reese is the kind that I use. My trailer needs a ball with a long neck for easy hookup so I always buy separately. Be sure that you get the correct size ball for your trailer (1 7/8 or 2" are the standards).
  14. Do you belong to a credit union? Often then can beat banks' interest rates. However, on a rig that old you will be lucky to find a lender at a low rate. I'm actually surprised that they would lend you that much to begin with.
  15. I'm not sure of your wheel base or suspension if it is like the Liberty you should be fine. My wife has pulled my tandem axle trailer with a 206 Champion all over including 3 times to S. TX with her Lliberty.
  16. I used to fish inlines some and lots of times the blade wouldn't turn unless I gave it a sharp snap before I began the retrieve.
  17. It will stick if you hit it right. If you wait too long it won't. If you pour too quickly the colors will mix. It is a touchy procedure. Air temps, humidity, plastisol temps all have a role in this so it is just a trial and error thing. Sometimes it will work great and other times it won't. The ones that don't suit you can be remelted and made into darker colors.
  18. When I open pour sticks I use a spru extender. Not the ones that cost about $5 each though. I bought copper couplers in the plumbing section of Lowe's that are larger then the hole and about 1" long. I set them over the holes and pour until they are full. That gives me plenty of extra plastisol to accommodate any shrinkage.
  19. I keep my rods in my boat all the time, except for the seldom used ones like for FnF. They live in the rod closet that I had built in when we built the house. Mine are used quite a bit as I only stop fishing when the water is hard. I have never noticed any ill effects of keeping them in the boat. Between trips I loosen the drags on my bait casters to keep pressure off the drag washers (that was recommended by Heartland Tackle service several years ago).
  20. My first tube cost me $300. The cost has gone down as I have made more but still it is more than store bought. But I won't go back.
  21. If you are buying from a dealership, they can add the extras to the invoice and list it all together. Then you can seek financing or they can find you a bank. If from an individual then you will have to deal with the bank. If you have a good credit history then it should go ok.
  22. If it is soft plastics you are hunting look at the cookbook at tackle underground.
  23. There is an application for both types that is why I carry several of each. I can't throw a weightless 4" worm with my bait casters and I have a heck of a time using 1 oz big bladed spinnerbait on my spinning stuff.
  24. Good luck with that idea. No one that I don't know is going anywhere in my boat, too much liability involved.
  25. That didn't work for me yesterday. I got a spook junior in my finger. I tried this method as I have heard of it for years. I finally just took pliers and ripped it out.
