  1. Ryne thanks for the inspiration. Your pic got me off my butt and out to pour for the first time in months.
  2. I used to take mine off but now that there are 5 different items hooked to the back of my Lowrance hds units. I just put a cover over them and leave them on.
  3. Yes the warm up is really important. My tech is a good friend who told me a long time ago that my Opti would keep on keeping on if I warmed it up to 120° even in the summer before I left the launch area and also after any extended fishing without using it. Mine is 13 years old and going like a charm.
  4. I've been dealing with them for the last 4 or 5 years. I have their injectors and some of the molds. I also use Calhoun Medium plastisol and buy from them.
  5. I throw it on a Curado E7 and a Gloomis Bronze back rod and 8# line.
  6. You can get that first effect by using the brush/tap method. Cadman is the master of that art.
  7. I couldn't find anyone with it when I wanted to buy it. Some had bought it and gotten rid of it because of the quality. I'm hanging back till the 3D gets up and running.
  8. Been doing it for a long time and never had a problem. I fish 80-100 days per year and never turn the thing off from unload to load.
  9. I wonder what the trailer looks like.
  10. I have come up with 5 different types of heads which I will try next week to see which works best for me. Thanks for the input.
  11. Thanks. I check out those hooks.
  12. I have yet to find a mold that will hold those things in place for shaky fishing. What is working for you guys.
  13. I use a Power Zap and must weld them with heat.
  14. The way I keep paint out is to hold the eye with a pair on needle nosed pliers when dipping and don't heat the head past a dull powder coat. I just did 8 dozen crappie jigs for a friend as a house warming gift for his new a lake cabin. I never had to clean out an eye. 2-3 seconds with my heat gun got the heads hot enough for the paint to stick to them.
  15. I had one come loose and never could find anything that would hold for very long. I had a friend in the lab at Loctite. He sent me all kinds of stuff to try. I finally ripped it off and put a new one on.
  16. I believe that active or stressed fish have a darker color than those that are just hanging around and happen to take your bait.
  17. Bass Pro carries some called Malon. I also used to get some called Sevelon from Cabelas.
  18. If Mike can't get to you Cadman or smalljaw might be able to.
  19. I just finished 3 days of those conditions in a clear highland reservoir that has no vegetation and very little timber. Day 1 I had no wind so I fished jigs and plastics. I only had 2 fish in 6 hours before I went back to camp. Day 2 I had a light NW wind so I broke out a chartreuse buzz bait and caught 7 bass on it. They were on main lake points in 2-3 feet of water. Then I switched to a white 3/8 oz spinner bait and caught 2. When that bite was gone I caught 2 on a jig. Day 3 I had a decent wind from the S. I used the buzz bait. They didn't want the chartreuse so I gave them white. The buzz bait bite was1/2 way back in the coves. I caught 5 with a 4# lmb kicker. When I decided they wouldn't hit it any longer I switched to the 1/2 oz white spinner bait and caught 11 more. I still can't understand why none of the regular (worms, jigs, tubes, craws, etc) would produce no matter what type of bank or how shallow or deep I fished.
  20. Xpress is the best riding tin cup on the market. That 94 Evinrude would scare me to death waiting for the vro to go bad and blow the engine.
  21. I think you have your own version of a Whiz Jig. I've tried them but not found them to be spectacular. https://nutechlures.com/index.php/whizjig-1.html
  22. Around here spots and smallies taste better than large mouth but non of them compare with crappie and walleye.
  23. Jake you should take scaleface up on this offer and drive to his place and pick it up. That is a very generous offer.
  24. Rod tips are usually put on with the same kind of glue used on arrow heads. I just has to be heated and removed. Then a new one glued in. I had that happen to a rod this week and got it replaced for less than $5.
