  1. What's up, I have been thinking about buying a kayak ($1,000-$2,000). I am curious If there are any websites/stores to purchase old or used kayaks. I know some stores carry previous year model kayaks and sell them for a bargain, but I am having a hard time finding them. Is there a website? I know Facebook market place has them, but I really could use y'alls help. Appreciate it, AJK
  2. start casting with the braking system set on max. Cast and remove the breaks little by little, all the way until you backlash. After you get the backlash out, set the breaks a little higher than where you backlashed at! AND Boom you have the ultimate performance. start casting with the braking system set on max. 3. I am looking for the best sales right now. I usually use the sale page on here, but lately it has been slacking. Let me know if there are any out there, and so all us can jump on them! Thanks,
  4. I am just trying to see what's out there and personal experience of what people have used. And his website is sweet, thank man!
  5. Here are my setups and what I use them for, I also know that some of the rods are "not for that" but I felt as if they fit the intended slot well: 6' 10" Medium Heavy Fast Shimano Zodias w/ a Shimano SLX XT (40 lb braid) I use this rod for almost everything, an all purpose rod 7' 3" Dobyns Fury Heavy Fast w/ a Shimano Curado (40 lb braid) I use this rod for my Texas rigs, and small jigs, and sometimes larger swim jigs if you are looking for a good rod for the price with a lot of action options, I recommend this series of rods. 7' 3" Dobyns Fury Mag Heavy w/ a Fuego CT (60 lb braid) This rod is used for frogs, flipping, jigs, and heavier Texas rigs This is a great frog rod, I don't like using super tall rods for frogs bc I never seem I can walk them right at that height. 7' 3" Ark Lancer Pro Medium Heavy Fast (More like an XF) w/ a Daiwa Tatula 150 (40 lb braid) This rod is in my locker for Carolina rigs, rabbits/horny toads (frogs), and beefier swim jigs, and spinner baits, jigs This is a good all purpose rod for stuff that is a little more beefy, the micro guides annoy me a little bc I of a fluoro leader. 7" Falcon Lowrider Medium heavy Fast w/ a Shimano SLX (40 lb braid) Falcon rate their rods a little light, so I use this rod for small swim jigs, shakey heads, and light Texas rigs. 7' 3" Falcon Bucoo SR Medium Heavy / Moderate Fast (3/8 - 3/4) with a Quantum Icon PT (12 lb fluoro) I use this for cranking, it says it is used for "deep runner" but I feel as it is rated super light. I Manly through my square bills on it. 6' 6" Abu Garcia Vendetta Medium Fast w/ a less Laser Pro (12lb mono) Strictly my top water rod. Love this rod for topwater, stupid light. It doesn't need to be the most sensitive bc I can see the strikes, but I also like the action of the rod. 7" H2O express Ethos Spinning Medium Fast w/ a Shimano Sedona Everything finesse ANY BRAND has yet to beat the price of this rod It honestly is all up to your preference, but I do recommend three rods setups for any body: -Medium heavy fast for all purpose -Medium Heavy Moderate fast for treble hook lures -spinning medium fast for finesse applications. With those three right there you can pretty much hit all the lures until you start throwing heavy set ups (heavy jigs, flipping set ups, and big swim baits)
  6. I want to replace my handle on my Tatula 150, does anyone have any suggestions? I am looking for a good handle for the price. I bent mine awhile back and would like to upgrade. Appreciate it!
  7. This is a tough one. Bc kayaks under 300 retail are made from a plastic not as reliable as the more expensive ones. Also it doesn’t have to be a “fishing kayak”, you can get a normal yak and add a Milk crate in the back and customize it to your liking. My advise would be to check facebook market and craigslist. If you do go that route go with a friend, never go alone. Best of luck!
  8. Yeah, You can find deals on those all the time. I am always on eBay looking for deals on reels like these. I have not paid full price for a reel in the past 5 years because of it, but I have not bought I rod off there. I just wait around until deals arise else where.
  9. Let's see what setup you got. I love this price range because I can actually afford it at the moment. HA HA. But this is the sweet sport for RODS AND REELS. So, let's see what you got? What do you look for? What your favorite combo is? What you wish you would have done or could do? Things to AVOID!? TIPS and TRICKS on where to find these deals. Just guys/girls talking tight-lines under 250$. ADD PICTURES! SHOW EM' OFF!
  10. Go for a Daiwa BG 2500 on Amazon, or a Shimano Sedona. Great reels for the price, possibly the best under 100$. The BG is a solid more rugged reel but its 20$ more, but if it won't get beat up the Sedona is a great option. Daiwa BG 2500 is around 90 Shimano Sedona is around 70 -According to Amazons pricing.
  11. I appreciate the guidance! My quest is only beginning!!!!
  12. Hello, I love fishing tackle and frankly kind of obsessed (very similar to everyone on this forum ?). I am looking into rod building, and I think I would enjoy it very much. However, I do not know where to begin. I do not understand the different blends of blanks and different quality of blanks. I understand the guides, the action of rods, the power of rods, reel seats, and pretty much everything else. I just don't how to tell the difference between quality blanks from blanks that are... well not very good. Also, any recommendations on where to begin with a rod dryer , the thing that rotates the rods for even coats. I've seen people make them and was wondering which way to go. Thank you all! Very exciting time to be alive!
