  1. Another midrange option is the Lamiglas X-11 SST Spinning Rod. I have one in the M/MF 8’6” size (two piece) and although I don’t use it for salmon (I use it for surfperch fishing), it is a great rod. Very sensitive, light, and reliable. It goes for $100 retail but you can get one for cheaper if you look for deals.
  2. Oh I didn’t even see. I guess I’m the one that’s lost. XD
  3. You realize this is a bass fishing forum, right? Try looking up “salmon steelhead forum” on Google. The guys over there should be able to help you more.
  4. Thanks! Helpful as always Glenn!
  5. With summer officially here, I wanted to get some info on how to catch fish. My question is: what techniques or baits work best in the summer months? Some context: I mostly fish from the shore or from a kayak and I live in SoCal. Thanks!
  6. Can you point me towards a website? Looks like a good option, thanks!
  7. Hello everyone! I am trying to find a good Texas Rig/jig rod for under $100. Also, I would maybe buy a reel if it convinces me (also under $100). I would use it for open water casting, dragging football jigs, and other basic jig and Texas rig applications (no flipping and pitching). Thanks for the suggestions!
  8. Wow, thanks everyone for the tips! I have most of the things everyone mentioned from surf fishing, so I will give it a go. Thanks again!
  9. Hello! This is my first post on the forums so bear with me. I have been trying to get into bass fishing, but haven't had much success (I have only been bass fishing once so that's probably why but anyways). I'm pretty sure that the spawn has passed on my local lakes here in SoCal (Casitas, Cachuma, Piru, Castaic, Pyramid). I've heard that swim jigs are good to catch post-spawn to early summer bass. My question is: What are the best colors, techniques, gear, line, etc? Really, any tips to catch bass during this time period would help a lot. Also, I have a kayak but I won't be able to get it out onto the water until summer at the earliest, so I'm limited to the shore for now. Thanks for any advice!
