  1. CountryboyinDC's post in Shenandoah South Fork ? Soft Plastics??? was marked as the answer
I know the South Fork, but rarely fish that far south.  It's a lot like the Luray-Bentonville-Front Royal sections I do fish, though, IMHO.  Ned rig is not my favorite, but in deep pools with little current they have produced.  I prefer th Nikko helgrammite over the TRD worm, though for that particular scenario.  You can get them from Don at Front Royal Canoe.  Grubs mentioned are good, I put them on a 1 or 1/0 worm hook with a 1/16 oz bullet sinker rather than a jighead.  I just find they get snagged less.  My favorite soft plastic has been the Keitech Fat Impact 3.3 in Tennessee Shad on a 3/0 1/8 oz keel-weighted swim bait hook.  A 4" Senko is my desparation bait.  As you probably know from experience, the bait is far less important than whether you're fishing where /when the fish are biting.
  2. CountryboyinDC's post in War Eagle Finesse Spinnerbait (5/16) - What is the actual weight? was marked as the answer
I throw these on a St. Croix LTB spinnerbait rod rated for 5/8 oz (I think this rating is a little light IMHO) and a Falcon Finesse Jig rod that's rated for the same weight, but is definitely a little faster action.  I don't dress mine these spinnerbaits with any type of trailer, and I trim the skirt slightly (doubt that affects the weight much).  Both of those rods work fine.  Just got a new one in my TW order, here's the actual weight.

I've tried the zappers and traps, seems to make no difference in my yard.  I thought about not bathing for about a month to see if the crust that builds up will keep them away, but the wife says those days are behind me.
  4. CountryboyinDC's post in Reel Line Capacity was marked as the answer
60' is deep for bass, at least where I fish.  Let's say you can cast 150' or so.  If you could get the bait to go straight down at the end of the cast (I know that's not what will happen in real life, even with you stripping it off the spool), you'd have about 162' of line out if your line was tight.  Of course you'd want a little wiggle room, so let's add another 50'.  We're only at 70 yard capacity of 14 lb mono.  That's all theoretical, of course.  If I were trying to hit 60', it would be with something with a lot thinner diameter than 14 lb mono, though.  Maybe 20 lb braid, or otherwise you'd need a heavy lure to get it down there in a reasonable amount of time.
