  1. Count me in as a fan also. I love my fate black med light spinning rod paired with my creed lte spinning reel.
  2. @PTasker15 I’m not sure if you’ve bought the KVD reel yet but Midway has them on sale for $114.95 currently.
  3. @redmeansdistortion @bulldog1935
  4. @PTasker15 Ok I’m going to start by admitting I’m a color match guy and for me the new Tatula CT or SLX paired with the maroon KVD rod would never happen ? With that said I don’t own a Fuego CT but do own a few different Tatulas including the previous generation Tatula CT (red accents vs blue) and as Cbump just pointed out the only major difference is the T-Wing. Search the Fuego on here and you’ll be hard pressed to find any negative comments about the reel. I also owned a bps carbonlite 2.0 which is a distant cousin of the Lews including the dual brake system and although I enjoyed the reel it’s no longer in my possession and I have zero intention’s on parting with any of my Daiwa’s.
  5. Daiwa Fuego CT. The easiest braking system to use. I agree with Cbump get the 7 speed for maximum versatility. As a bonus it’s in your price range at Tackle Warehouse but I’m sure you’ll find it cheaper if you look around.
  6. @gimruis Yes your brother is correct but the biggest problem is because we’ve been in drought mode for quite awhile the water isn’t getting down as far as it should which is causing our water table to be higher. My mother in laws sump pump was running so much I was worried it was going to burn out?
  7. @slonezp One universal truth I’ve learned from my sister and confirmed by my wife is you can’t have odd numbers when dealing with women only even numbers.
  8. I’m not sure what happened at those shelters but that’s a shame ☹️ We had a similar situation with a shelter dog who came from Kentucky and was supposed to be house trained…needless to say when he decided to relieve himself while pirouetting in front of my wife that sealed his return after 36 hours. It worked out in the end as our favorite rescue organization gave us Steve?
  9. I’m going to say Okuma TCS A line. They offer a 7’ hvy mod fast or the 7’/3” hvy fast for your chatterbaits.
  10. I have 3 of the Eagle Claw (Brent Chapman) Insight rods. First one bought at my local Wal Mart next 2 online and I will say if they’re available at the $50.00 price point they’re are well worth it imho. Although I have never used the Falcon rods @MyKeyBe is referring to, Falcon rods in general get more than their fair share of praise both on this site and in general on plenty of other websites.
  11. @KP Duty As an admitted Piscifun Carbon X fan I’m in agreement.
  12. @bp_fowler If you don’t mind my asking what is the price and power/length you’re looking for? For instance I paid around $40.00 for my Hank Parker casting rod and I feel it was more than fair. Conversely I paid $45.00 for my Carbon Fire on sale from at the time ? $65.00 and again I’m happy. Conversely I have a 13 fishing fate black spinning rod (7’-1” med light) which Tackle Warehouse has only 2 lengths available around the same price $60.00-$65.00 which I feel is a much nicer rod and if you look around might find more options.
  13. Although I don’t own the spinning version only the casting I don’t see how there will be a huge difference in spinning vs casting models. I’ve eyeballed the carbon Fire spinning rod’s which I’m 99.99% are the same blank as the Hank Parker rods and they’re pretty nice for the asking price.
  14. Although it’s not my favorite West Coast IPA it’s cold and good enough after a long work week ? @TOXIC & @GreenPig I’m not a huge whiskey drinker/aficionado but I had a shot of the blackberry bird dog whiskey and all I’m going to say is ooohhhh that was good. Now I’m going to have to find the peanut butter flavored one to mix with Kalua & Cream ?
  15. @T-Billy That photo of the bullhead reminded me of my youth when we spent time in Minnesota with family and neighbors. Our one neighbor in particular used to cut the line hook and all until my dad offered to unhook the bullhead’s as he said they’re “devil fish” because of the grunting they do when they’re pulled from the water ?
  16. @T-Billy I’m glad to hear no one was hurt
  17. If you’re liking the LFS @$40.00 why don’t you just buy another one ?
  18. I recently thought of selling a rod/reel combo this year and also found the shipping to be quite obnoxious for the cost of sale vs shipping and instead wound up selling them to a local shop that I’m fortunate enough to have relatively close by.
  19. I know it’s not even close to being decent, after spooling and then working with 6lb monofilament to attach a barrel swivel I’m getting some kind of alcohol in me ?
  20. I hit my local tackle shop the other day and managed to walk out only $30.00 lighter ?P.S The Daiwa B&G Wasn’t included ?
  21. I know I showed the Daiwa B&G before but I don’t think I’ve shown my new to me used (excellent condition) Curado MGL 151? Both just got spooled today ?
  22. @Jeff Zurawski your brother is absolutely correct. Beautiful bloom by the way ??
  23. I’m going to respond with a BPS Carbonlite 2.0 combo. I have a 7’-0” med power/fast action currently. I feel for right around the $200.00 mark it’s a good choice. The reel is basically the Lews LFS platform with a dual brake system and the rods are quite sensitive in my hands at least. I use mine for a variety of baits and feel it handles everything from top to bottom with no problems. It’s available in several lengths and powers plus if you’re able to shop in store you can handle before you buy. Best of luck in your junior bass masters club ?
  24. Man I wish I found this site when I was in my prime and had dang near a lions mane for hair. Man I miss my youth ? I may have to start a thread called the “hair club” in the everything else section ?
  25. I’m going to suggest staying away from the lower end reels. I have a KK royal legend 2 that I like but definitely not for frogging. Get something with an aluminum frame such as the aforementioned Lews or something similar like a pro qualifier 2.
