  1. Count me in on the like side. I first grabbed a pb&j colored spinner bait and if I’m able to throw a spinner bait that’s my first choice. I’ve had success on the crank baits as well and although I’m not catching big bass I find the hooks are more than capable of keeping what I do catch pinned perfectly fine.
  2. As a ocd color match fan I love this combo ?
  3. Not my favorite Oktoberfest which was Old Style Oktoberfest which they stopped brewing but not bad either.
  4. Take a look at Okuma, a nice rod for the money. Although my 3 are casting (evx) no longer available & 2 (TCS-A) I feel they’re priced very fair for the build quality and they have some supporters besides me on here as well.
  5. @UmairF I appreciate the thoughts on catching tanks. Unfortunately I haven’t had much time this year to get out so when I do it’s to one of my favorite retention ponds which are mostly filled with dinks but they’re willing biters? @OG Crankster I’m not sure if you’re willing to share that pond information but beautiful fish ??
  6. Welcome aboard Umair, I’m from New Lenox
  7. Congratulations and Happy belated anniversary to you both.
  8. I’m a fan of the suffix advance myself and have it on multiple baitcasters and one 2000 size spinning reel with zero issues on either. I also have and use big game mono and prior to suffix I really liked McCoy mean green.
  9. @MiceNReets I for one am going to have to take your word on that ? Although pretty in pictures I’m sure much nicer in person. If I may ask what’s the setup for as it appears to be a Tatula 80? on the rod.
  10. @Kirtley Howe Thank you for pointing out the gift cards and hence the need to purchase from them. If there is anyway you can up your budget by $10.00 I would highly and I mean highly recommend the Abu Garcia Revo X that is currently on close out available through Bass Pro. Available in 6 or 7 speed with an aluminum frame and graphite side plates. You’ll hear horror stories of people loosing the side plate but I’ve never lost mine and feel if you use common sense you won’t either. If you must purchase the Tournament Special all I can add is I’m a fan of BPS products and just as importantly the warranty they offer which I’ve never had to use but I know is 1 year on that reel.
  11. I’m not sure if you’re a righty or lefty but the flea market section has a lefty Lews lfs for $50.00 shipped to your door.
  12. Calling @bulldog1935 ?
  13. @evo2s197 Awesome looking ??I for one am looking forward to seeing the white one next.
  14. Didn’t Lews try this out with a Winn grip version ? If I’m not mistaken they based the handle off of a golf club. I just googled it and it was the custom plus super grip rod. Not quite the same but it was flat on top of the handle. I don’t think it caught on very well but I may be wrong.
  15. @Jig Man How can I search for the BPS catalog outlet?
  16. @JNorman Yes and as far as I can tell it’s still available. Check your pm folder I sent you a message.
  17. @JNorman Have you tried to search for a shallow aftermarket spool? I have the dream tackle version of the Hakai reel but I don’t have enough time on it to tell you much about it other than the build is nice.
  18. I’m in the opposite camp here and think they look sharp. I’ll hold off on how the handle feels in hand until I actually hold one. I will agree with @webertime in the Victory only costing $10.00 more and the warranty is 15 years vs the 5 year warranty for the Mojo.
  19. @ironbjorn I’m happy you called. About a week ago I was driving on I-88 around Dixon when I witnessed a fellow semi driver swerving between the 2 lanes d**n near pushing vehicles in the ditch. We had about 15 miles to go to a rest stop and I figured i’d call if he didn’t pull in. After about 5 more miles I witnessed a mid sized suv hit the shoulder and roll over twice, needless to say I called 911 immediately and pulled over to at least meet with the police. The 2 kids who were in the suv for work both made it out with I believe one passenger receiving a concussion, the other seemed fine but looking at what could have been my children as they looked darn close to my daughters age taught me a lesson to not think someone else will call on an erratic driver. BTW the driver of the truck pulled over around 2-3 miles after he hit them and he walked down and waited for the police to arrive. I believe he was falling asleep and didn’t even realize he hit them at first.
  20. @Ohioguy25 & @WRB I’m not trying to start trouble but what difference does it make with the .008 diameter. The Suffix website says the 10 pound braid is equivalent to 4pound monofilament diameter and the shallow spool 2500 Stradic is listed at 110 meters of 5 pound monofilament which is the equivalent of 120.297 yards at again 5pound monofilament which means the 4pound equivalent should be at least another 10 yards at least? Im not sure how you’re casting anything let alone a Ned rig that far or what kind of monster Bass you’re capable of catching that you’re spooling that reel.
  21. I had owned the previous SLX and just recently purchased a Curado 151 MGL and truth be told I feel the SLX was a bit smaller probably due to the lack of external adjustment. I could be off base and truth be told I’m really regretting selling off the SLX. I’m interested in the current SLX MGL but it’s more a want definitely not a need? and until I feel it in hand I’m not pulling the trigger. My biggest hang up is the line capacity which is actually all in my head?
  22. @Bandersnatch Where did you see the SLX 150 MGL? I just searched and nothing came up about this?
  23. @ol'crickety I recently purchased a Daiwa B&G open box special that someone on this site pointed me to. There’s not a mark on either the box or the reel.
  24. And because of my current financial situation this is why I’m not looking at getting into round reels? But in all seriousness I’m truly grateful for all of you guys that keep posts like this one active as I truly love seeing all of ?….this?
