  1. Sorry @12poundbass😬
  2. @Mike L Please don’t think I’m saying anything crazy about Justin Fields, I was left wanting to see more is all😉
  3. Somebody explain what the heck happened to the Bills 🤔 The small sample I was able to watch they looked completely befuddled. On the other hand as much as I’m a quiet defender of Justin Fields my beloved Bears better give Tyson Bagent a shot at proving this wasn’t just a fluke. The young man seems poised, confident and able to read the defense quickly and effectively.
  4. I’m going to second @Bankbeater’s suggestion for the carbonlite 2.0. Although mine was a casting rod it was and will be light in hand plenty sensitive and well built with a comfortable Wynn grip that is tacky even when wet/slimy (muddy) and comes with a good warranty. I will also say for the price I agree with @PhishLI although I don’t own a sg1 rod I have a couple Lews Carbon Fire and Hank Parker signature series rods and for the price they are built above their price point in my opinion.
  5. I purchased my first Shimano spinning reel a Stradic FL 1000 during the BPS spring sale with a trade in and I have to say I love this reel. The line lay is awesome and the reel itself is smooth as silk. I handled a Miravel 1000 also which I feel would have been just fine in my 1000 size but again zero regrets going with the Stradic FL.
  6. Although I no longer own the combo I had a 7’-0” 2.0 casting combo In medium power. I’ll agree with everything @LCG said about them and wouldn’t hesitate to purchase another rod from the series.
  7. @Bazoo I have the prior generation in that exact bps rod. I will say in my opinion your crankin stick is a bit faster in action than mine and as @WRB has pointed out you need some weight to properly load the rod. I bought mine thinking I would use it with chatterbait style lures but quickly found out anything less than 1/2 ounce is a bit trying to say the least. I have mine paired up with a Daiwa Tatula Type R (first generation) and I truly feel the mag force z braking system is a step above the lews magnetic braking system but with that said I still think you’re not loading the rod properly.
  8. Although I don’t use a lot of backing for my reels as I only have 2 dedicated braid outfits I’m horrible at tying arbor knots but when I do re spool my reels I’ve found this tape laid over my arbor knots works well as it gives the line something extra to grip into and cinches the tape down real well and it doesn’t leave a sticky mess when I remove it.
  9. Don’t forget they also monitor this site or at least did when it came to the Mojo Trigon thread. Just a thought🤔 but either way that’s awesome how it worked out for you @Friggs.
  10. @FishthunderMy .02 is if you can go to a local tackle shop or if you have a bass pro shop head there and talk to them so you can feel before buying. Bass pro can put together a number of different rod/reel combos and they have a great warranty on both house branded and non house branded gear. If you can’t feel before buying I’d suggest staying away from the Kastking centron combo as the reel is their most entry point reel and probably won’t hold up well. Although I only own and use (1) 13 fishing rod and reel (purchased separately) but actually used as a combo I’m very happy with the combo and feel they deserve a look. This one fits right in your budget and if you go to their site they offer quite a few options on the rod lengths power/actions. Best of luck. Forgot to add this combo comes in at $79.99 pre tax and shipping.
  11. @GrumpyOlPhartte ps the seat modifications look great 😉
  12. @bowhunter63 My vote goes to 13 fishing, for the money I feel it’s a great bang for the buck. Tackle Warehouse is selling Muse Black rods for $130.00 and as a bonus you get a free blackout spinning rod which after checking is a 7’-1” medium. Not going to lie I wish I could take advantage of this offer. They have several different rods in the lineup they’re closing out at imho great prices with the free rod offer. For the record I have a fate black and when I’m ready to replace /upgrade my spinning rods I’ll be looking at the 13 lineup.
  13. I purchased this mixed 12 pack Thursday and have been enjoying ever since with the last (4) one each chilling in the fridge for later on. All of them are excellent but these 2 are the standouts in my opinion. Top one is Zombie Ice double pale ale and my favorite Backmasking oatmeal stout.
  14. @Bazoo Join the dark side my friend 😉
  15. @volzfan59 I remember the little old Quantum microlite😃 I bought just the reel (3) bearing version after seeing Bill Dance using one on his show. Although I don’t have any pictures to prove it I caught crappie, bluegill and bass on that reel paired to a 5’-0” Mitchell ultralight rod I bought at K-Mart. I caught what is probably my biggest bass on that rod paired to a old Daiwa spinning reel my brother had given me in a condominium retention pond where my wife and I first lived. I believe I was throwing a jitterbug that was too big for the rod for sure but I managed to land it. Even had an Orland Park police officer pull over to watch me battle the fish and he jumped out and came down the hill to the waters edge as he couldn’t believe that fish was swimming in the pond. As I said to @volzfan59 in our pm exchange I mostly fish ultralight/light gear as I’m only mainly able to fish retention ponds currently and the ones I’m hitting are very pressured so if there are any big girls swimming around they’re very wary, plus I really do enjoy it.
  16. I’m glad it wasn’t just me.

  18. I look every time I go and I usually buy at least one Strike King finesse swim jig even though I have as many as I already need. Last 2 times in I bought some Ned rig setups made from Perfection lures/David Dudley.
  19. @Bazoo Although not my money to spend I say buy it now. If you run into issues with it come back here and ask for help, you will get as many answers as you need here. Not to exclude any members on here but from mild to wild customizations check out @bulldog1935 and @redmeansdistortion‘s round reels and you’ll see what I mean. Best of luck.
  20. I just got an E-mail that Tackle Direct is offering a buy 2 get 2 free Daiwa Eliminator spinning reel sale.
  21. @T2DM If I may ask where did you buy the parts? I’m looking at picking up a SLX MGL and now I’m intrigued on the tension knob specifically.

    Options?

@TOXIC We need a dual reaction button for your last post so I’ll use my phones instead. ? for the first 3/4 ?for the last quarter.
  23. I like many others didn’t hear the news until the game was being played. Although I was but a child when Butkus was a player I’ve seen enough film of him to realize that most of the great linebackers that played for the Bears (and we’ve had our fair share of greats) realized Butkus set a standard of how the position should be played.
  24. @AlabamaSpothunter Sharp looking combo my man??
