  1. @Mossman I have a 2000 size 13 fishing Creed on a 7’-1” Med Light with 8 pound braid and use it for Ned’s and couldn’t be happier. For me if I’m using a 3000 size it would probably be on a 7’-3”-7’-6” rod nothing shorter due to balance. YMMV😉
  2. @slonezp I’ve often said I like visiting the city I had zero issues working in the city but that was on the far east side in the heart of the loop where I only had to walk from the LaSalle train station and back but I’d never live in the city. I was born and raised in Tinley Park moved to Orland Park with my wife who was born and raised then to Frankfort and finally here in New Lenox. I don’t frequent the city much anymore other than the last 2 concerts I mentioned and my wife my kids with there friends and myself went to a Christmas event in Daley Plaza.
  3. @Fishthunder I know I’m late to respond and realize you’ve already made your combo purchase but I’m going to echo what @KP Duty said in buying a clearance 13 fishing omen black 3 rod. I have a fate black rod which is nowhere near as nice as the Omen black 3 rod and I love it. If you search out 13 fishing’s customer service you’ll find nothing but good reviews on that end also. I’m not sure where you bought the rod from but Tackle Warehouse is definitely offering a heck of a great deal on the 13 fishing rods in my opinion. If you’re able to open 2 tabs at the same time compare the 2 rods side by side and I fee you’ll agree the 13 fishing is a nicer rod for the same price as the Dobyns.
  4. @garroyo130 I love my 1500 Daiwa B&G. I use mine for bluegill and crappie fishing but I’m definitely not worried if a bass jumps on with that reel😉
  5. @12poundbass I used to drive a non sleeper cab version of those two beauties with a Cat engine. That truck was as solid as an anvil and even with d**n near a million miles going through rock quarries, cement silos to concrete plants which all 3 are nowhere near smooth that truck would track straight down the highway with zero input through the steering wheel. @KSanford33 Do you have any photos to share? Every once in awhile I see an old Fiero for sale and think d**n that would be fun to drive 😉
  6. @Brycecover @PhishLI I love Midway 😉 I purchased an “open box” Daiwa BG spinning reel from them which is freaking awesome btw and a pair of Danner work boots after that. Both items were perfect with quick shipping. I would definitely recommend them and I frequently check their site for great deals. Totally solid shop👍🏻
  7. Asian Portal has a handful of Shimano Miravel’s in 1000, C2000S and C2000SHG’s for $76.25.
  8. Gotta love watching a defensive lineman not only get an interception but a pick 6 to boot.
  9. @Mobasser Thanks for the information which I suppose I could have googled myself 😬. Although I don’t fish rivers I’m going to go to their site now just for the heck of it😃
  10. @Mobasser I haven’t seen an ugly bug for many years but if I had access to my late brother’s tackle box I’m sure he had at least one stashed away from our younger days. If I may ask where are they being sold these days as I’ve not seen them in my favorite local tackle shop and he carries quite a bit of “locally “ made tackle.
  11. @Brycecover Although it doesn’t matter now, did you start by setting up an account at JLS? Also although JLS charges for shipping if you go with the standard shipping it’s relatively cheap and as a bonus they send a free lure with reel purchases at least. I received a Jackhammer Chatterbait with my Tatula 80 and a Megabass jerk bait with my SLX MGL purchase. Just food for thought for the future.
  12. My girl Beauty was obviously mentally scarred by whatever male had her before us as she wouldn’t come near me for months. After she realized I’m not as mean as she thought I was she became my favorite walking partner before we rescued our boy Steve and inherited my MIL’s dog .
  13. @galyonj I’m sure you’re tired of answering the but what does SWMBO stand for? I’ve been wracking my mind forever on this.
  14. @Brycecover I don’t have the answer to that question from experience as I bought a Curado MGL and had little time to use it and my JDM SLX MGL was purchased for the upcoming season but as others have stated the SLX MGL can handle a variety of situations. Read @r83srock’s description on the 2nd page as he and others have far more experience than me.
  15. @Brycecover There is no SLX MGL 150. Only a70 size in SLX and both a 70 and 150 in the Curado lineup.
  16. @gimruis I respectfully disagree as the owner has the final say so and the fans/ticket holders are the ones in charge. With that said I will use my again beloved Bears as fools who will stay as they know if you’re locked into a price you might as well stay. But I will say I agree with @Boomstick as the owners always have that Bull Schiznet excuse to use😉
  17. @Darren. I still remember like it was yesterday getting my White and Orange O.J. Cleats😉 Also although I’m a Bears fan through and through I loved and always will respect Jim Kelly as he was a phenomenal player who was always shortchanged during the Super Bowl imho. Give me Jim Harbaugh in a heartbeat unless it comes out he was involved in the whole cheating conversation as I feel it’s a character issue even though several players including several of my favorite’s have said “if you’re not bending the rules you’re not trying” or as I reminded my little league players it’s only a penalty if you get caught when they would come off after a set of downs complaining. And for the record I was their biggest proponent if they were flagged or were being held/ slashed being taken advantage of during the games. P.S. I know that’s hypocritical.
  18. @gimruis I personally feel at the time Belicheck was in a different category which as pointed out was 20 years ago 🤔 As someone who’s dealing with an aging Father and MIL along with slowing down myself mentally 🤔 im just saying maybe it’s time for the Patriots to part ways with him. I also say this hoping my beloved Bears headquarters are reading this as some of our local sports shows are saying they should consider Belicheck 😵
  19. @Brycecover Jump on the $100.00 price and don’t feel you’re missing out on schiznit. Take both @PhishLI @r83srock’s advice as it is extremely sound. Let us know what you do but again STOP overthinking this as it’s a all around reel that you can upgrade if you feel the need 😉 Although I don’t think you will want to upgrade as much as add too.
  20. @Brycecover Again just my opinion but I’d ditch the 8 speed as you’re looking for an all around reel as you said. Secondly save the $70.00 and get the Tatula 100 or 150 depending on your size preference and if possible go to any tackle shop that has both and if possible bring the rod you’re going to use for now. Then if you decide you love the Daiwa lineup you can upgrade to an Elite or keep the same 100 and add an SV or the Elite which for the record I don’t own either.
  21. So my daughter took me to the “Pierce The Veil” concert Thursday night at the Arragon Ballroom in Chicago. They brought 3 openers Destroy Boys, Dayseeker and LS Dunes which out of the 3 LS Dunes are worth seeking out imho. Pierce The Veil was absolutely awesome and being in a small setting made it even better. I haven’t been in the Aaragon Ballroom in 25 plus years and it reconfirmed my love of the venue as the sound is absolutely amazing. Although I listen to some Pierce the veil music after Thursdays show I’ll be listening a lot more and deeper into their catalog, I found their style to be a mix of Smashing Pumpkins meets Bullet for my valentine.
  22. @Glenn That’s a really cool move on their part.
  23. I’m in the Tatula 100 camp. I own several Daiwa’s including a CT Type R to a Tatula 80 and a Tatula 100 and I will say the Tatula 100 is the most versatile. I will add I don’t know how or why your SLX got geary but I will say my Tat 100 is a awesome reel 😉
