  1. @ol'crickety I would gladly trade your worst fishing day for my best anytime. Between the quality of your fish and the drop dead gorgeous locations you fish I always look forward to your posts, it doesn’t hurt that you and several others on here also have a wonderful way with words.
  2. I stopped at my local grocery store after work for some lunch meat and noticed they were selling 4 of the to follow in a photo beers “loose”, said to myself “why not” those will taste good for Sunday Night Football (GO BEARS) game. Should have known better😬 As I went to grab a 12 pack of pop that I keep for the teenage boys in the basement to transfer to the downstairs refrigerator it appears a different 12 pack had burst 🤔 prior and gave my now holding 12 pack a not so strong bottom 🤬 Well after cleaning 3 of the cans that exploded after hitting my floor, thankfully unfinished side of basement although used for storage and believe me it’s packed I said “Someone definitely wanted me to enjoy” so I did😃
  3. In all seriousness though I’m looking forward to hearing how you like the setups.
  4. @Flushdraw If your “buddies” are catching them, why are you asking here instead of asking and more importantly mimicking what your friends are doing 🤔 I should add I am most definitely not a big bass expert.
  5. Picked up a 12 pack for the football games. I’m enjoying it😃
  6. Although I usually spool my own line I have had my favorite local tackle shop do it for me and zero issues. I’m not sure if you have a local tackle shop near you but you could use them. I’ll also add I don’t know where your Fleet Farm is but I’ve shopped the Delavan Wisconsin location and I personally wouldn’t have a problem with them spooling my reels.
  7. That is awesome to hear 👍🏻
  8. @rangerjockey I’m not sure if this is the rod (light green) you’re referring to but if it is I’m in agreement with @FishTank that it’s not very sensitive and definitely a bit heavy although I can live with both those issues it’s the handle length that really bugs me as it’s so long.
  9. @Ohnooze Although I don’t have the spinning rod I have 2 of the casting versions in 6’-10” although one is a Carbon Fire (Dicks sporting goods exclusive) with the only difference being a Wynn grip vs EVA. The Carbon Fire was used quite often when I first got back into and more importantly bass fishing and I still have it and still love it.
  10. @Terrova80 I’m not sure if you’re opposed to buying from Japan but they have a ton more options including the 2023 Stradic offered in a 2000 or 2500 size with a shallow spool and 6 speed gear ratio.Sorry the photo quality isn’t better but the reel I’m referring to is available on JLS (Japan Lur Shop).
  11. That’s a cool cover but when Layne Staley sang it you could practically hear him battling his demons as he sang.
  12. @gimruis 😂 Yes sir that is “Georgia”, she was a gift for my daughter a few years ago from her friends who plucked her out of someone’s garbage on their way to our house 🤣
  13. In my humble opinion it was definitely a fair price, unfortunately as I said “was”as the website says out of stock.
  14. I have a Revo -X 5 speed on my Lews rod.
  15. @Rockhopper I’m not sure if you’ve considered looking into the Lews lineup but they make quite a few different graphite rods marketed specifically as crank bait rods. I have an older TP1 7’-3”moderate fast that is super lightweight and handles 1/2-1-3/8 ounce as listed. I don’t throw a whole lot of cranks but it’s a nice rod.
  16. I just wrapped up cutting my lawn so I figured I can enjoy one of these😉
  17. I’m glad you pointed that out, I figured I already caused too much confusion and didn’t want to muddy the water any more anyway.
  18. I just checked Digitaka for a Daiwa Zillion and it along with any other 30% off reels are unavailable. Oops my apologies they’re showing 1 left in stock but it’s a right hand retrieve.
  19. @TnRiver46 & @T-Billy What the heck is a paw paw?
  20. Oh they still sell it and this bluegill didn’t see it or didn’t care about the color match as much as I do when he seen my setup 😉
  21. Welcome from Illinois 👋🏻
  22. I really enjoyed the write up👍🏻 Although I’ll probably never own one I’m pretty sure I could find a use for the rod based off your review especially since I prefer a slower action such as is found in my 2 Okuma TCS-a rods and having fat but shorter fingers your description of the handle sounds perfect to me. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts on your new rod😃
  23. I have that reel in 1500 size and I agree you could have put a little more on.
