  1. Never felt like I belonged anywhere until now!!
  2. Headed out to Blue Lagoon with. Y buddy from yesterday and landed my first 2.5LB Peacock bass on a live shiner ! I'll never forget today for the rest of my life!!! Added another pic of a couple others we got too! Got 5 in out of 7 bites today!
  3. Well, Matkham turned out to be pretty awesome and a bust. I cast twice off a boat ramp on the SW side and to my surprise I was invited aboard my first bass fishing boat by a really nice guy and spent the day on the deck of a real bass boat for hours soaking up some tips and tricks from an experienced angler. We ran miles up and down the canal around the Sw to NW side of Markham pitching plastics , wacky rigs and even practiced with a spinner bait of mine. He only caught 1 tiny little LMB on his wacky rig which was OK because now I made a new bass fishing friend and hes taking me out Peacock Bass Fishing on his boat down at the Blue Lagoon and Miami Airport Lakes tomorrow all day with some live shiners and more ! All in all, I had no bites but what a really fun first day! Cant wait for tomorrow morning!
  4. I will 99.999999% be taking you up on this offer hahah! ?
  5. Awesome advice thanks so much ! I never knew avoiding snakeheads (I heard are really invasive) was a good way to target in on some bass. Thanks again, headed out now guys - will update later!
  6. What a great reception thanks guys! Headed out to get some live bait and shiners (decided to bring an old bluegill / bobber setup just for kicks too!) Will update! ! Will definitely do some reading while I'm on the banks today, thanks! I have never used a bait caster before but I intend to get one when I feel comfortable with how it works and what it works well for etc. Thanks!
  7. Hey everyone! I have been fascinated by bass fishing for most of my life but always I hesitated and felt overwhelmed by it all. I finally took the plunge and subscribed to many beginner bass YouTube channels and put together a decent 150$-200$ or so set of lures, lines, tackle, baits, and 2 rod & spinning reels to start off with. I have lived in Broward County Florida for 5 years now and have prepped to go on my first LMB all day fishing trip at Markham tomorrow and Sunday, maybe even hop around the 75N canals and even Holiday if I have time over the weekend. I have a 6'6 Medium Ugly Stick and another older Medium 6'6 rod that was my grandpa's - the Ugly Stick has 15# flouro leader to 12# mono and my grandpa's is 8# mono to a 15# flouro leader. (I am saving up to get a 7'0 medium heavy ASAP). I'm starting with a 3/8oz Colorado style spinnerbait first but I included a screen shot of my list of stuff I have and am bringing with me. I have a willow spinnerbait, swim jigs and trailers, hollow body craws, green pumpkin and black senkos 5" etc. (I have everything on the list aside from the top water bait, the buzz bait, ribbon tail worm and chatter bait). I practiced uni/double uni knots, the palomor knot, and the improved clinch knot. I would be so grateful to hear some good tips , advice, local spots and anything else you guys can offer a total newbie like me before my first weekend. Also if theres any beginner clubs or meets willing to guide a 29 yr bass beginner like me that would be great too! - Nick
