I have this reel and it’s currently the favorite one in my arsenal. It’s honestly probably a little overpowered for Michigan bass, but it does well throwing anything 3/8 oz to 2oz (I don’t throw anything bigger). I use it mostly for pitching and swimming jigs. One thing I will say is that it is not a bombing distance caster. While not having an SV spool, it is definitely controlled casting.
I can confirm that Megabass is included in this years TW sale, it shows up on your receipt after completing your purchase. The website is a mess currently right now though, I'm assuming from the high traffic.
Well, I got my jacket today and am pretty disappointed. The zipper is a disaster as it continuously gets caught in the liner. Hopefully Huk’s customer service can either give me a replacement or a full refund. Outside of not being able to take it on or off properly, it’s a great looking jacket...
Wacky rig, drop shot, Ned rig, and lighter shaky head. I fish more open water with it, but it has pulled smaller bass out of the weeds. Sounds like you might need something more stout though.
The 703SF is what I’d pick if you plan on fishing in weeds. Dobyns rods run on the lighter side. I have the 703SF Sierra and it’s right in between ML and M honestly.
