  1. I go completely nocturnal in the summer to beat the heat and wake boats (3' waves). It's about time to make the switch.
  2. Frabill F1 for warm weather and 100 mph suit for the cold.
  3. 8.5 lb on a fluke, 9.2 lb on a frog, and 12.44 on a Stick-o worm all out of a 1.2 acre cow pasture pond. All released .
  4. Revo Toro Beast 60 HS paired with a Daiwa DX heavy swimbait rod spooled with 30 lb P-line CXX should give you the upper hand.
  5. Yes and catch some nice bass over deeper underwater weedlines in the bright midday sun. I believe the bass get tucked back in the weeds and don't have time to get to the straight retrieved lures. Working it with short snatches and pauses up to 20 seconds gives them time to get out of the weeds. We do have 5' to 6' visibility on the lake this is effective on. Not so much on our murky lakes.
  6. Welcome back. The knowledge on this is forum is immeasurable. On my spinning reels use 10lb braid to FC leader and on my baitcasters I start at 40lb braid.
  7. Test for fishing license? No! No! No! Absolutely no need for more government in my life. The law is already there about throwing trash in the lake. Simply enforce the law. I'm all for a $1,000 fine for discarding trash in the lake. I'm sure your liberal English teacher liked the suggestion for more government.
  8. I fish a lake with similar water clarity and have learned if I see the bass they will not hit my bait. If I want to try to catch them I'll move on and circle back in a .5 to 1 hour and hang back and make long cast to their location. I'd try a weightless stickworm or fluke type lure. But with that many bass together, WRB is likely dead on.
  9. I'm fishing unless it's lightning.
  10. Mr. Cullen's big bass was 18 lbs I believe. He had a little different scenario he as fishing private waters with little to no pressure.
  11. Agree with the above. But I would also fish a large topwater and hudd gill.
  12. X2 my other hands already there
  13. Yeah. I had a friends wife buy a dozen for their rural yard that was infested with ticks. After two months of that noise they ask me to come out and shoot them.
  14. Stick-o's work
  15. X2 The hooksets on my long cast with braid to FC drive the hook home much better than full FC.
  16. For my bass fishing anything application needing more than a 25 I pick up a baitcaster.
  17. Grease gears (lightly) and oil bearings and level wind. Oil monthly because I run my spool bearing shieldless. I do a complete tear down on all my reels annually.
  18. The 70 and the K are both great reels. I'd suggest picking up both . The 70 is more of a finesse reel and handles lighter applications better.
  19. San Diego Jam knot for line to lure/snap connections That's a monster. On 10 lb test?
  20. I've got a 2005 Merc 25/Lowe 1448 with 60,000+ road miles with a standard Transom Saver. Many of those miles being fairly rough dirt roads. What's the problem with the trailer to motor transom saver?
  21. Spro Power swivels are small and strong
  22. The Cornfield appears to be a little better made just looking at it. The Cumberland may be great I've never seen one in person. But 60 to $70 difference for a 360 mount when buying a Solix 15, Terrova, and 360 wasn't a big deal.
