  1. Picked up a Gigantarel HL Bluegill and G-Ratts Swimming Rat mink from the TW the other day. Posed with my 9" Bull Shad.
  2. Outside edge of grass beds with a Super Fluke Glimmer Blue or BPS Sticko black & blue 5 & 3/8" on fluorocarbon. Fish both with 5/0 wide gap Gamakatsu.
  3. The braid on my baitcasters starts a 40 lb. Too much digging into itself for me.
  4. I've got a Minn Kota Terrova 80 lb on my 1448 jon boat and it'll cruise at 4.3 mph with a heavy fishing load. If you go with a 24 volt I'd suggest 80 lb over 70 lb thrust.
  5. $60.........HHHHmmmmm.............Got it. Megabass Megadog. It's big, pretty, in your price range, and Fall bass like topwater.
  6. I would hit the wind blown northern shore first. If that doesn't produce I'll fish banks paralleling the wind. I start at the down wind point and keep the boat facing into the wind while working my bait perpendicular to the bank. Anytime I fish windy days (which I prefer) I'm always looking for mud lines. Mud lines are perfect ambush points that have produced many times for me. If I get to the point that I want to fish a windless area, I load the boat, get in my truck and head home. The 80 lb Terrova I-Pilot GPS I've got mounted to my 1448 Jon has allowed me to spot lock and fish during small craft advisories.
  7. BPS CarbonLite 2.0 7'6" Med-heavy fast
  8. I'd pick one or two lakes in your area and fish it/ them regular for one full year. It will allow you to develop knowledge of the seasonal patterns. Check the plug. Check the plug. Careful with the weather. Don't be afraid to ask other fishermen in person about the use of your electronics.
  9. It definitely gets their attention.
  10. I throw my 218.44 mm Megabass Megadog 10x more than standard topwater.
  11. Very nice.
  12. I use original 65 lb Power Pro for flipping/frogging and Berkley Ultra 8 in 8 lb & 10 lb to a flouro leader for finesse presentations such as Ned/dropshot.
  13. I'll be throwing 8"+ Bull Shads, Wake Bull, Bull Herring, Megabass Megadog, Triple Trouts, Flow Gliders, big Rats, and S-Waver 168's & 200's. I primarily throw big baits all Fall & Spring.
  14. Ned Rig. The open hook doesn't require much of a hook set. Drag it, hop it, or swim it and it'll catch fish.
  15. I will pickup a few packs and fish them. I've fished many stick worms and always comeback around to the BPS Stick-o.
  16. Frog hook baits get braid for the hook driving power. Treble hooks get mono for the stretch to keepem hooked.
  17. I just can't feel bad about eating fish, deer, and hogs. Big ol pan of baked Largemouth and spotted bass.
  18. Goodluck.
  19. Zoom Super Fluke in glimmer blue. Especially in a herring lake. I can fish at any depth, slow, fast, and change the ROF just by changing hooks.
  20. Load a cooler and go to the lake. Leave your boat at home but bring a camera. It'll be a great day for videoing boat ramp fails . Launching and loading will be hilarious. I was leaving the lake last week with my little aluminum boat around 1 pm. A man around his mid 50's was attempting to back his $109,000 glitter boat down the ramp. I was talking to his daughter and she tells me it's the first boat he's ever owned and he's super proud off it. She said he told the marina he wanted the fastest bass boat they could make. She said it'll go 95 mph according to the marina he bought it from. It was really really nice 2 Solix 15's, Solix 10, power poles, hydraulic jack plate, and you name it. 51 minutes later it finally floated off the trailer. I'm very glad I was off the water while he was out there. I suggested to the daughter to keep her life jacket on.
  21. Thank you. I prefer fishing in rough weather. I've fished multiple times when small craft advisories were issued. The very reason I went with the Kong mount for the heavy Solix. With the 80 lb Terrova I've fished up 3' waves with spot lock holding position for hours. Now running with the 25 Mercury in those conditions is a rough slow ride with the flat bow. Anything more than 3' waves I'm gonna fish a smaller more protected body of water.
  22. I've spent 1,000's of hours on the deck of my 1448. They're plenty stable. Only time I've been wet was fishing in the rain.
  23. Since I started training one arm pullups I've had no shoulder pain from fishing.?
