Testing my new SLX 6.3 with a 3/16 spinnerbait and this pig interrupted me.
  2. I've seen them like that also. They were so thick, throwing a jerkbait you would have a threadfin on every hook of every treble. So I pulled my Roboworm off my dropshot and used the shad and caught some very nice crappie but never found bass on those shad that day.
  3. Get video of the walk. It'll go viral. You'll get rich and be able to upgrade your fishing arsenal.
  4. You just need to moisturize your cork the night before fishing while you're putting on line conditioner.
  5. My wife can smell new rods, reels, and swimbaits.? This at my wife's back while she's on the home computer and she can count.
  6. Along with the great info above I'd also suggest getting a few gold colored spoons. Chrome, shad, and coleslaw colors usually work in my lakes but I've had days when they'd only hit gold. If fishing structure make sure you waypoint productive spots. I fish the same spots year after year during the winter and catch a pile.
  7. I'd throw a 1/8 oz Rooster Tail if you just want to catch some fish. I've never seen a body of water that has bass that a Rooster Tail wouldn't catch a few.
  8. Been ethanol free for all my gas buring engines since 2005. I tried ethanol twice in my 2009 Chevrolet 6.2 403 hp FlexFuel and noticed a major reduction power and went from 14.5 to 12.9 mpg. I want all the power out of my engines that I paid for.
  9. Congratulations. Awesome fish. Too bad you caught it on live bait so it doesn't count.???
  10. If you'll so it in the same bags as your regular plastics it becomes special again.??
  11. I quit using it when I realized you could only catch one at a time unless you put a 5" free swinging stinger hook on it.
  12. Pulled up to the lake last week and started unstrapping the boat around 11:15 pm. A beat up little car pulls up and parks without stopping to get a parking pass. I was midway up the parking lot under the only light and they were between me and the ramp. I back my boat in and pull back up to the closest spot. Being concerned that the two individuals in the car may have plans to B&E my truck, I walked up behind their vehicle and took a picture of the plates with the flash on so they would know without a doubt exactly what I did. They promptly headed out there.
  13. I've thrown 7 oz for full 8 hour days with my heavy. It seemed to handle it fine. Only thing worst for wear was me.
  14. Diawa DX swimbait rod 8' Extra Extra Heavy 4 to 15 oz for $110. I have five of their swimbait rods and fish them every week have been impressed with the performance.
  15. I go 7 up and 7 down. Wet and cinch. Trim tag ends close. I tie it on Power Pro and Fireline with fluorocarbon and mono.
  16. Night before trip I tie new leaders on . I use the crazy alberto and it takes a little over a minute for each leader.
  17. 3/16 & 1/4 on Curado 70 and Revo ALX both with 5'6" for creeks or 7' for lakes medium/medium rods with 12 lb mono. I throw and 1/8 with my Curado on creeks where long cast aren't needed but accuracy is important.
  18. It take a certain type of person to dare to completely breakdown reels and clean them. I would suggest starting with your cheapest reels to learn. Schematics and a camera phone helps immensely.
  19. A small pair of Snap-On needle nose pliers can also help. I fish year round and right now I'm hunting also. The middle of summer is when I do my deep clean on my reels. Mid summer I go nocturnal and only need 5 combos so I find cleaning (40+) reels in the A/C to be perfect at that time.
  20. I have 3 boats and all have the maximum recommended hp. Learned that lesson long ago. Nothing wrong with buying a used boat. There are many boats out there a few years old with very few hours. A friend bought a two year old boat last month and the seller told him it only needed 2 more hours for the engine to be broke in.
  21. That's rough.
  22. Too good? What? I love my Solix 15 SI GPS Bluetooth and 360 imaging on my little jon boat. As far as I know nobody is forced to use them. You can grab a can pole a be a minimalist but it'll be slightly harder to get a check.
  23. Fishing it like you stole it. Ain't nothing wrong with that.??
  24. Must be nice to have a rod box.?
