  1. HaHa! Little George is such an old fashion bait. I keep 10 in my box at all times. I'd cast them all.
  2. I use the BPS retriever and it works fine. I added a couple more lengths of chain, changed out the line to 200 lb Muzzy bowfishing line, and spooled (70') on a old BPS rounds reel for quick retrieval. For small spoons and drop type lures a disk/flat river weight round 1.5 or 2 oz with a larger snap is quick and simple.
  3. Fish my magnum spoons(8 & 9")
  4. Pro Tip: Never taste test a lure that's attached to a rod.
  5. It's the indian not the bow. KVD could out fish most with a cane pole. Not that that there's anything wrong with expensive, light, sensitive, great casting rod.
  6. 9.9 on a 3/16 oz spinnerbait Nov 19th
  7. The bait monkey gave me a beating the last time I just considered giving up on a lure.
  8. 2020 Silverado LTZ Scale, spare needle nose pliers, and a change of clothes in case I take a unplanned swim.
  9. It cast ok but every standard capacity reel I own will out cast it with the same lure. My Curado 70 and Revo ALX easily out cast the Winch. All that line capacity isn't needed for my cranking style as I spool with 10 - 12 lb and I can't come close to a 100 yard cast(half the capacity).
  10. A little late but I traded my 09 tow vehicle(left) for a 2020 tow vehicle(right) today.
  11. I also use the Loctite Gel Easy Squeeze. I store it in my 3700 Ned box. I've never had the cap come off. Maybe use some medium strength (blue) loctite thread lock on the cap.?
  12. 8-10 Cotton Cordell spoons fishing timber. Stripers just love to zig & zag thru the trees.
  13. When I pickup another cranking reel it'll definitely be a Tranx 200 over another Winch.
  14. The Abu Winch is a powerful cranking reel but the huge spool capacity (200 yards of 10 lb fluorocarbon) hurts distance casting a bit. IMO
  15. Several years ago I had the great honor to take a 94 year old veteran and his son to fish at my pond. Head said all he wanted to do was catch a mess of bream for him a his old friend (also a veteran) to fry. So we got him set up in a comfortable chair with one of my ultralights and crickets with me on his right taking fish off and his son on his left baiting his hook. Over the next couple hours he caught 80 to 90 bream and I put 25 or so of the bigger ones in his cooler and they headed home. A week later his son called and let me know his father and his friend had their fish fry and had a great time. He also told me his father went on and on about how it was the best fishing trip he'd ever been on in his life. Now I've taken several people for their first time and I've caught some really nice fish and had many great trips but that day was my most memorable fishing trip and I never even made a cast.
  16. Over 2 years with my Curado K HG and zero problems.
  17. Water clarity determines whether I use a leader or straight braid. But I usually use a leader just in case, unless it's very muddy.
  18. I've fished Georgia, Alabama, South and North Carolina, and Florida in my 1448 Lowe flat bottom. It's powered with a 25 hp 2 stroke and 80 lb Terrova. With a large front aluminum deck and floor and 3 group 31 batteries the Terrova will pull it along at 4.3 mph. I did weld pods on to help float the 189 lbs of batteries in the back seat. I've fished full days when small craft advisories were in affect. I think it's a great little boat but if I were going to take a partner I'd get a 16'. Deck
  19. My wife gave me a Shimano Tranx 400a. The real shocker was I won the TJ81 50k subscribers give away, which I consider a gift.
  20. Georgia had George Perry and Pat Cullen. I would've liked to fish with Mr. Cullen. 1113 largemouth over 10 lbs. Incredible.
  21. Zoom Trick, Zoom finesse, Zoom Shakey Head reg & magnum, and Roboworm make up the bulk of my SH fishing. If I had to pick one it'd be the Zoom finesse .
  22. Be careful about using info from salesmen. I spent 45 minutes talking to BPS guy about electronics and he slipped up and told me he'd never even owned a boat. So basically he's just regurgitating what he's been told or read and had no real world experience with electronics. I was looking at buying a Solix 15($3600) so I wanted a little better info.
  23. Here in Ga. I've been catching them on shakey heads the last 3 weeks in 10-15 FOW on hard bottom. 3-5' visibility and water temp 53-56.
  24. Great idea. Goodluck. I could go for a 6 pack of Megabass(assorted) jerkbaits.?
