  1. I upgraded from a 40 lb to a 80 lb on my 14 x 48 jon. The days of the wind forcing me to hide in a cove or leave are done. Having it and not needing it is better than needing it and not having it.
  2. Get as many of these possible from my boat and beat my states record LM.
  3. Grease that boat axle up and do it. If you're gonna hit Tennessee & Alabama you may as well slide over to Georgia.
  4. I wear a Frabill F1 suit in warm rain and 100 mph in the cold rain. I went through five cheaper rain suits four years. Save your money and buy a quality suit from the get go.
  5. I've got four Baby Bull Shads and they do indeed catch fish. They just cast like a potato chip. Very nice of you @BoatSquirrel. I need to try those Spros myself.
  6. After living through the Helicopter & Flyer lures(gifted to me). I will not be fooled by gimmicks. I'm not above buying lures that look good to me and are known to producers. I own zero electronic baits and don't expect that to change.
  7. About 10 years ago I fought and lost a very large (PB++) LM on a long cast on wakebait. She just wallowed on the surface until my lure dislodged. I had her on for probably 30 seconds and got a good view of just how large she was. That scarred me. Break offs are so rare nowadays I just retie and keep fishing. I've had so many ok fish under and around or through grass that I thought were good fish I don't get excited til I see them.
  8. It was an intense couple minutes. It was hooked top center of it's back. I was finally able to grad it by the tail and partner was able to unhook it. I was wore out after holding that thing out away from important parts of me for a couple minutes. It was thrashing around something fierce. I almost just shot the thing. They can really hurt you.
  9. A live large 45+lb beaver in almost pitch black on a magnum jitterbug. The release was interesting by headlamp. Didn't want my net destroyed and BOGA grips are useless beavers.
  10. I pay zero attention to fishing forecast. I fish when I feel like fishing. I don't fish every day, sometimes I fish at night.
  11. My wife has learned to use her inside voice when it pertains to my fishing.
  12. There's a 99.275939% chance it'll be another Stradic ci4 2500.
  13. I just found that the ceramic is missing on the tip of one of my spinning rods. Now I need a new rod and a tip repair kit.? Then I'll have a excuse for a new reel.
  14. Homemade for my soft & hard baits. Keeps my tails straight. Rubbermaid, wood dowels, and wire. It holds alot.
  15. The Bass fishing gods are smiling. ?
  16. I fish 10 - 12 lb mono & fluorocarbon for BB & spoons. If I'm hanging on the hooks alot it's typically my technique causing it. But sometimes fishing around wood and rocks when the spoon lands on them and hangs completely vertical and upside down it will hook on the line. Most of the time I can bump my rod just in front of the reel with the side of my fist and it'll fix it. I also fish a baitcasters in 8.0:1 that helps fix the problem quickly.
  17. I got tired of moving and switching chargers. So I installed a 3 bank in my little Jon boat.
  18. I've got a school of Huddlestons & Bullshads. A 3700 that's slowly filling up with various Megabass 110's. Megabass Megadog, Bull herring, a pack of large Rats. I own somewhere between 0 and 48 $100 & under swimbaits. I'm gonna get 5 or 6 $100+ swimbaits then I'm done buying them.? If I ever own a Mother it'll be homemade. 6th Sense Savage shine glide, Megabass Grenades, and Bull herring
  19. I fish four of them. Hard to beat for the $.
  20. Huddleston does have the weedless Shad and weedless Grass Minnow both under 1 oz that should work. I have zero experience with them but alot of folks like them.
  21. Nice. I'll remember the backlash trick in case I ever get one.?????
  22. My ultrasonic cleaner shortened my soak time to 10 minutes in acetone.
  23. Reels that have both types of brakes I'll run one or two internal brakes and use the external adjustment to adjust for wind and lure weight. Over the years I've used less and less brakes on my BC reels as my thumb has wised up.
  24. I'd look into a small quiet generator. You'll save money in the long run and be flexible on where you sleep and fish. Just make sure it'll carry your battery chargers load. I own a Yamaha 2400 that I used for bowfishing for nine years and it's super quiet.
