  1. I am 1 hr from my favourite lake.
  2. I want a new casting rod and am torn between the loomis E6X and st croix legend bass rods. Anyone have experience with these? What are your opinions? thanks
  3. Thanks, I was basically just asking what this type of rod was used for, since I couldn't find a straight answer by searching online. My wife wouldn't be upset or mad if I did exchange it, she isn't that kind of person, I just liked how proud she was when she gave it to me that I wanted to keep it. I do have other rods but they are all med/fast or med/heavy/fast so this was the odd one out. I do like the feel of it, so I'm going to try it out with neds, this is the first time I have heard of this.
  4. Married 15 years, 3 kids and one on the way. kind of serious I guess Probably not. It's not that I can't return it, it's just she was so proud of herself that she picked out a rod that I didn't have. Just trying to think of a way to use this, but I could return it if I wanted to.
  5. I have been reading up on this technique, sounds like a good one. I will get the real stuff.
  6. Never heard of a Ned rig, so I just checked it out. Seems interesting.
  7. Hello I have a question about a rod, my wife picked me up a Fenwick HMG 7'6" light-moderate/fast spinning rod. I don't want to return it because it's the first time she has bought me anything fishing related and she was pretty proud of herself for picking this one out. I read on one the threads that a moderate/fast would be to whippy for bass, then I read it's good for crankbaits/jerkbaits, then I read it wasn't. Would a rod like this be good for dropshot? What would a moderate/fast rod be useful for? I can't find much help without it confusing the crap out of me. Any help would be appreciated. I am new to all this and up until this point have only ever used med/fast rods. Thanks
  8. Thanks! That was great! My three year old has senko worms as a daily toy alongside his hot wheels. My other son can't leave the store without begging for a new bag.
  9. Thanks everyone !
  10. Hello, I am 38 year old framer/roofer. I live just outside of Ottawa Canada, I'm married with 3 kids and another due at the end of april. I've been an occasional fisherman all my life but just got a lot more serious about it in the last couple of years due to the fact my oldest kids are now getting interested. For years I only ever used an old Zebco rod/reel combo from a cottage country gas station, now my main rods are 7'MF St Croix Premier and a Fenwick HMG 7'6" LMF, both with Pflueger President 40 reels as well as a 13 fishing *** MHF casting rod. I didn't know what I was missing all these years using that one crappy zebco. We mostly fish in the lakes around Calabogie Canada and we love our Pelican catch 120 kayaks. I'm looking forward to learning more about fishing from everyone!
