  1. I have a few go to baits that seem to work at all times. I have been doing well with a Eakins/Chompers combo as of late, but I have to give it more time. The top three: 10" Red Shad Power T-rigged.....weight depends on situation Mann's 1-......any color........I catch more fish on this than any other crankbait I throw Chug Bug....most colors.....nothings better than a great topwater bite!! Trey
  2. Thanks for the replies............I will be ordering a sample or two (grin) from a couple people! Trey
  3. I am looking for some hand pours in a 4" or 5" Shakey style or finesse worm. Please let me know what has worked for you. I like the Zoom Finesse worm with a 1/8oz Shakey jig head, but I am looking for some more options with the worm! Trey
  4. I have a set of the Frogg Toggs.....actually it is my second set.......the first set ripped the second day out!! The concept is good...light weight, packable, etc; however, the durability is defintely an issue. For me the FT are something you could keep in the boat as a last second cover if an unexpected rain comes in. I now just use my Cabela's MT050 (?) Hunting rain gear for fishing as well. The only thing that I don't like about them is I have pants for bottoms instead bibs!! Bibs are definitely the way to go!! As for keeping me dry, they do a great job of that.......unless I get a little wet around my waist do to having the pants. I would recommend Cabela's gear (pick what works best for you), but make sure you get bibs! Good Luck! Trey
  5. I am interested in making some of mine own plastics (senko, shakey style, sweet beavers, etc.). Is there a go to place besides here that would be beneficial for me to use? How much initial investment am I looking at? How hard/easy is it to do? I will continue to use the search function, but I figured that I could get more answers this way. Thanks, Trey
  6. I bought a bunch of this line (bulk spools of 8, 10, 12) this past weekend at our tackle show. I have used Silver Thread before with good luck, but I didn't use the silver color. The gentleman at the booth told me that silver disappears better than the clear or green. Has anyone used this stuff and what is your thoughts? I bought a bunch due to price, and I figure if it works then I got a great deal if not I am not out too much!! Trey
  7. Thanks for the replies....................My plans are to spool some up on my C-rig set-up and see how that goes......if all goes well I will try it on other set-up's as well. I will have to try some of the Power pro. Thanks again for the help, Trey
  8. Thanks for the replies.............I figured out that I had it in the wrong section, but it was already too late (grin)!! Let me ask it this way...............does anyone have anything good to say about the new clear Fire Line? Trey
  9. I have been lurking here for the past couple of days.................excellent forum!! I haven't fished much the past three or four years (work, baby, hunting, etc.).................I have recently got all retooled, and I am ready to hit the water. My question is on braided line.......my only experience was a bad one (spider wire probably ten years ago)............who uses what and when? Thanks in advance for the help. Trey
